Just reading what people say about the film on IMDB they are saying american crime is more accurate and that this movie is based on a fiction book, indeed no-one is playing Sylvia it's as if she isn't in it?? Also this movie added a lot of its own material to portray shock when the events were shocking enough. Found out why she isn't it's only based on her ordeal not factual. Don't think I want to watch it now.

I did sya it wasn't based on Sylvia. And also if you read the court transcripts you will see that they changed the perception of A LOT of the characters. Everything in between the court scenes in An American Dream is written from imgination.

Yeah, I read also that neither film is accurate that what Sylvia went through was a lot worse than what happened in both films, very sad and tragic
Just found where you said it was loosely based.
Anyway I can't watch it nowhere seems to have the film, only the trailer
