Interesting topic - I bet a lot of people bring up different events here.  I think I'll struggle to get 10 though!

1.  9/11 - I have to agree with you Scroll, this has impacted big time.
2.  JFK's death
3.  The World Wars
4.  Partition of Ireland
5.  7/7 bombings
6.  The abduction of Maddy McCann
7.  Breakdown of the USSR
8.  Man on the Moon
9.  The publishing of Harry Potter
10.  Getting rid of smallpox for once and for all

i don't have 10 events....but  the black ninth of September, i remember that day, i was in the high school then , i'm not interested in politics , but i kept saying in this day the things would never be the same, and i was right , i cried over the victims too , they didn't deserve this , no human ever deserved to be killed over greedy evil intentions of fanatics and some stupid politicians

No order...

1. Reading the Harry Potter books from as soon as 'The Philosophers Stone' was out. Just before the hype hit. (The whole 'I liked it before it was cool' line, but it's true, lol)

2. Tuition fees debates and stuff, even though it's an on going thing. there was loads of news around about it when I was going through the process of applying for uni, so kept up to date with it all.
Oh and final year, they put them up again. Grr.

3. 7/7, 9/11, the Glasgow airport bomb attack, other acts of terrorism, and the wars around the same time.

4. LOTR cinema and (extended) DVD releases.

5. Princess Diana's death.

6. The split reaction of the London 2012 logo (thats the graphics student in me coming out there, lol)

7. Security becoming ever tighter, and introducing more and more restrictions at our airports.

8. Tony Blair came and went.

9. The abuse of children reported in the media. Not just Madeline McCann, it annoys me that since she was taken all other children who have been abused/abducted seem to have been forgotten. She isn't the only one, not by a long stretch. I'm not saying she isn't special, just that other children are equally so.

10. The first camera phone. zomg it was aces at the time, lols.
