It just proves all you need is a good paint programme.

You don't even need a computer program to fake ghost pictures.  People have been doing it since the beginning of last century with double-exposures on film

OK, well, here is my way of trying to phrase it in a forum-friendly manner, i think you say you see ghosts because you want ghosts to be real.  And I mean you as in people in general (like when 'they came to get him')

I firmly believe that my friend, the one who is obsessed by Most Haunted and who goes to psychics, really WANTS ghosts to be real.  Especially since she lost her father unexpectedly( at age 63) and both grandparents all within a year of each other.

I don't really believe in ghosts as I have stated already, however I also don't wish to tempt fate by playing around with 'occult-y' practices like fortune-teelers, ouija-boards and seances.

I used to laugh when rabid Christian-types warned against such things and dabbled in them anyway, but then I had the 'haunted-house experience' and it kinda freaked me out!

I have believed in ghosts since I was 13 which is when I had the encounter, I know we was young and innocent, just wanted to see if chris's house was haunted so did seance and tried speaking to the ghosts, really freaky actually, found out if memory serves there was a young girl murdered there..hence mysighting ofthey girl ghost.

God that sounds so cheesy reading it now 17 years later

I lost my job and my grandma last year never thought of ghosts then more upset than anything else.

Though when used to stay at her house after grandad died kept expecting his ghost to haunt me would get scared going past the room he died in..

Don't really know what point I am trying to make here.

There shouldnt be any points to make  miss sixty hun since I hope people arent telling others what to believe, its bordering on that a little. I was rather hoping this ghost thread would be about ghost sightings and stories instead its just turned into a who believes what debate. boring.

Just in my opinion of course and no offence meant to anyone.

I'm telling her what to believe, we're just discussing it.

Im not saying you are actually telling her as such and um reading back you are a little bit telling liz what to think, shes being quite nice about it, I wouldnt allow you to talk to me in that manner, people will believe in ghosts for whatever reason they dont have to justify it to you....

Thanks.

Soooo anyone got any spooky stories to tell?

for instance this part.

liz wrote - I know there is heaven, hell I am not uncertain of that. So in that I don't  want ghosts to be real because of anything I am uncertain of.

I don't believe in ghosts, but I always find it creepy when I hear of deaths that have happened round about.

Apparently when we first moved into our house (my mum was pregnant with me at the time) the son of the old couple next door was killed in a car accident, and apparently the old man ended up hanging himself from the light fitting in the living room, and my neighbours had to knock the door down to get into him.

Gives me the shivvers, especially when I think how old the houses on my street are, there could have been so much more of that happen over the years.

Come on girls lets get back to the topic at hand I really am not bothered about how Vicky is talking with me, everything is fine we are just having a healthy debate.

Thats an interesting point to make taf yes old houses will have a lot of things in them from over the years.

A couple of pages back I wrote about the house featured in 'amityville horror' makes for interesting read..

Ghosts are a controversial anomalous phenomenon. According to a poll conducted in 2005 by the Gallup Organization, about 32% of Americans believe in the existence of ghosts.[4] The term ghost has been replaced by apparition in parapsychology, because the word ghost is deemed insufficiently precise

Another widespread belief concerning ghosts is that they were composed of a misty, airy, or subtle material. Anthropologists speculate that this may also stem from early beliefs that ghosts were the person within the person, most noticeable in ancient cultures as a person's breath, which upon exhaling in colder climates appears visibly as a white mist.[6] This belief may have also fostered the metaphorical meaning of "breath" in certain languages, such as the Latin spiritus and the Greek pneuma, which by analogy became extended to mean the soul. In the Bible, God is depicted as animating Adam with a breath.

Some more points to discuss..

ooo, yeah the video was weird. i do beleive in ghosts but i don't think they want to harm people...they want to tell people something. they have unfinished bisness. one time i heard footsteps down my hallway and noone was there. i told my mom about it and she said she heard it too. but she thought it was me or my brothers. so mom had the house quote "cleansed". we never heard the footsteps again. i have had many other ghost encounters...or spirit encounters...and so has my mom. i tryed talking to a spirit/ghost once but it went away. i havent had many encounters lately though. but if you feel like there is some kind of spirit/ghost in your house and you feel like it is hostile or has a bad feeling about you, heres my advice. tell the ghost firmly to leave you alone and that it can't hurt you and tell it you are the boss! never step down from the spirit.

i don't believe in ghosts ... People, animals and all living creatures aren't able to be back to world when they died ! They can see this world maybe, but they never come back as a ghost or different form ! If you think that you can see a ghost,it is able to be your minds mistake or something like this ! ... Yeah, your mind can mislead you about everything. And it always happens when you feel depressed, confused, sad, alone ... Thats wonderful and lucky that ghosts don't exist ! ...
