Tom Cruise: Is he on the crazy train?

I used to like Tom Cruise. I thought he seemed to be a pretty cool guy, and he has always been a great actor. Recently, along with a lot of the public, my opinion has change somewhat.

I don't think he needs to be scorned for being with Katie Holmes (We've seen Ashton and Demi, the age deal is over), but how acceptable are his public actions/behavior. Sure, he can do what he wants, but how much is tolerable when in the public eye?

If you missed his "performance" on Oprah, you can see it here: http://gorillamask.net/cruiseoprah.shtml
(Also, follow the link below the movie, of Dane Cook impersonating Cruise on Jimmy Kimmel - it's hilarious.)

Tom has also publically insulted Brooke Shield's for using Paxil to overcome her postpartum depression, and well, I'm sure you've heard most of the other stories.

Has he been taking his behavior to far? Personally, I find it pretty amusing and am excited to see what crazy Tom will do next, but I don't really agree with some of his actions. Especially regarding Brooke Shields.

I use to like him to, 4 x4.

But now he's just annoying...but It's not entirely his fault, tis the media's aswell I suppose.

I hate how hes going around insulting people for using medication when they're life happens to depend upon it. Thats none of his damn business, and not everyone is into Scientology. This is the reason why i'm not going to see War of The Worlds. (I'll wait till its on DVD,  ). He should go through depression and see how damn "easy" it is. And how much he wants medication.

But that thing oh Oprah was priceless. Looked like he was having a damn seizure!

(P.S, I LOVE the title to this thread, ROFL )

I never really liked him but the man seriously needs a sane publicist to tell him to keep his mouth shut. All this stuff about Katie Holmes is creepy but fair enough if he's in love with her. But that criticism of women who take drugs to help with post natal depression was a really stupid and insensitive thing to say.

I'm so agree with you Eteab, for me it's Scientology, and I heard Katie Holms join the Scientology, is it real?

Yeah I also think Tom is losing it a bit. Did you see the fragment on tv where a cameraman spurt some water in his face and he reacted in a really aggresive and rude way. Ok I understand that you think that isn't funny, but react in public in that way, incredible!

And his affair with Katie, don't know what I have to think about it, let's just wait and see .

I actually admire him for not smacking the guy one, he was pretty good about it. The "comedians" who did it were eejits, to do it at the premiere of his film was rude and thoughtless. When you're four hitting someone in he face with water is hilarious, not when you're a fully grown adult.

umm... tom has always just been kind of "there" for me. lol... he was never really anything special. I never found him attractive, i was too young to appreicate many of his movies... so he's just always kind of been an actor... nothing more. I think him and katie are cute together, though... and i'm happy that they're so happy. As far as him and brooke shields... well, i don't really think he has the basis to say what takes care of postpartum depression  Telling her that she's not being healthy, and that's why she wants to kill herself is just stupid. LOL, i think he needs to have a baby and then see how he feels.

This is what I read today:

BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- Hollywood actor Tom Cruise not only battles creatures from outer space in his latest film "War of the Worlds", he also believes aliens exist, he told a German newspaper on Wednesday.

So what? He believes in aliens as many people do, what's the problem? Shouldn't he say that out loud?

The only thing that really bothers me about him is his criticism of Brooke Shields when she couldn't deal with her depression in a different way. But unless he gets pregnant and gets into that kind of situation he really doesn't have a clue what he's talking about and should keep his mouth shut. I'm not a great friend of medications either, but I think he went a bit too far there.

But remember, he really cares about you ... and you, and you ... and you too

And on a more positive note: I've never seen any actor spend as much time with his fans as Tom Cruise, and he's truly enjoying it, too.

Yeah, that's what i was saying... i mean, he'd really have to go through something like that to understand what she went through. And since that's physically impossible... he shouldn't comment on things such as that.
