Alice In Wonderland - new version

Just wondering if anyone on here has seen the remake of Alice in Wonderland!
I really liked the animated Disney version, so I have to admit, I wasn't so sure this remake would be that good. But I did go and see it, and I was really pleasantly surprised! The actress who played Alice was pretty wonderful, I thought. But the stand-out for me was the Cheshire Cat (voiced by Stephen Fry)- he was brilliant!
I saw it in 3D - I thought it would have been just as good in 2D though.
Anyone else?

Didn't watch it I didn't like the look of it, I don't know why Johnny Depp has started doing these roles like AIW and Charlie and the chocolate factory he could be so much better..I don't like Stephen Fry

I've seen the preview, read an article on it, and my friend went to see it and said it was really good. She said I'd probably really like it. So I do want to see it, but I haven't yet.
But my friend (who is kinda annoyed by my crazy fandom of LOTR and Elijah) said I should become crazy about that movie instead of LOTR, and I was like "No way! Nothing can replace my Elijah fandom." xD

Elizabeth - well, I'm a bit of a Stephen Fry fan, but even without that, I thought he was really suited to the Cheshire Cat role. I must admit, I'm not a massive Johnny Depp fan either (shock horror!) and I wasn't impressed with him as the Mad Hatter - I thought (as I do with most of the stuff I've seen him in) that it was completely over-the-top, in a bad way.
BUT, that said, I didn't like the look of it from the trailers either, but I'm glad I did see it - it's not bad.

I saw it in 3D on Friday. It wasn't as dark as I was expecting it to be... I actually really liked the role of the Mad Hatter. He was such a sweetie. And I'm not a Depp fan either... I mean, he's alright. Just not my favorite.
Overall I think it was pretty good. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much in 2D, and I don't think the 3D aspects were as good as say, Avatar, but I think the movie overall wasn't a waste of money.

I went into the movie thinking I was going to hate it; I'm really not a big Johnny Depp fan and honestly, I didn't want to see a remake of a Disney movie (which is what I thought it was). The only reason I went to see it was because my boyfriend really likes Tim Burton and Johhny Depp, so I went along as the "good girlfriend".
I loved it. Way more than my boyfriend. Hahaha! I want to see it again! I loved the symbolism about coming into your own destiny and doing what you are meant to do. I've had a quote from the book hanging up in my room for years now about believing six impossible things every day which is something that I try to practice regularly.
Has anyone read the books? The movie made me want to read them!

Well I AM a massive Johnny Depp fan - for his ACTING as well as his gorgeous looks (shock, horror! ) - especially in his more 'quirky' roles such as Chocolate Factory and the PotC movies, and I have to admit Depp's presence was a major drawcard for me to go see this movie.
I am also a fan of Burton's style in general and, as always, the visuals were stunning, though the plot was somewhat lacklustre IMO. I also viewed the film in 3D, though I would've preferred to see it in 2D myself.
Also, Stephen Fry ROCKS! His Cheshire Cat was one of the high-lights, as were Bonham Carter and Crispin Glover as the film's dastardly duo.

I finally saw Alice and i liked the movie. I went to see it because i really adore Michael Sheen who voices the White Rabbit (of course, i would love to take that cute rabbit home!) and i wasn?t disappointed. Helena Bonham Carter was hilarious as well as Alan Rickman?s Blue Caterpillar. Also loved Bayard (Timothy Spall) and Tweedledee/Tweedledum (Matt Lucas). Stephen Fry?s Cheshire Cat was simply awesome!!!! The look of the cat and the voice were superb!!!!!
I can?t say i liked Johnny Depp?s "performance". He and Danny Elfman?s music were both annoying and tiring and reminded me of every single Tim Burton movie in a very bad way. At least, they weren?t able to ruin the film which i still enjoyed very much.
