Quote from: curious bout efans on March 29, 2004, 05:12:40 pm It's a good show. I used to watch it every week, but now I just watch it when I go home. I wish they'd re-air the older ones cause they were funny. I remember the Steve Martin Christmas Wishes one! Ahahahaha! Or they one where he sings a song about King Tut. Oh, good times.
I like the show - can you tell?
|
Actually, they do show repeats of the older ones. Every Sunday morning @ 3am Central on NBC!! I try to tape it every week, but sometimes I forget. It's great when they show the late 80's/early 90's ones! Good times!

I know the Continental! Christopher Walken rocks! He's so creepy and funny at the same time. Isn't that the skit where he tries to get the woman to stay and puts all these moves on her? All you can see of the woman is her gloved hand. Christopher is in a smoking jacket and keeps following her around his apartment.

Yeah, that's the skit alright. It's so funny! I can't find any clips online though. Just transcripts. I'll try again later because it is hysterical (in my opinion, at least).
As for 3 AM airings...wow...3 AM. Jeez, that's kinda late. Oh well, maybe I'll try to tape them when I get home in the summer. Cause that'd be cool.

Speaking on CJ, did you see the one with Wynonna Ryder played Bjork and she wore the dress?
Alex Trebek: Bjork, this is the only thing that becomes toast.
Bjork: Everything is music. When I go home, I throw knickers in the oven and it's music. Crash, boom, bang! (makes indistinct noises) (buzz)
Haha. I also remember this one from the time Josh Hartnett was on. Click me. Aw man, when they started to sing, it was so funny.

Why would you pay to see me in a cage?

Ah! The Continental! Christopher Walken is the man. Those are the best.
My personal Celebrity Jeopardy bit:
Alex Trebek: I see. You know what, let's just move on to Final Jeopardy with every player in negative numbers. And the category is...you know what, this is way too hard, I'm just gonna make one up. How about your favorite food? Just write down whatever food you personally like most, any food you like to eat. [ music starts ] Your favorite food. [ Keaton walks over to Reynolds's podium ] Keep in mind you can't be wrong. You can even lie to me and just put down a food. [ music stops ] Okay, and put down your pens. Mr. Travolta, let's see what you put. Your favorite food is.. [ shows his screen ] Miso. A type of soup, excellent! And your wager.. [ shows his wager ] Horny. Me, so horny. [ Travolta laughs. ] Great.
John Travolta: Come on, that's hilarious! Come on!
Although I could've sworn it was Sean Connery. Ah well. This is the greatest site ever for SNL.
http://snltranscripts.jt.org/
Although you all probably know that already.
Anybody remember Coffee Talk, with Mike Meyers? FABULOUS!
"You're like Buttah!"
"Now I'm getting a little verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic. The radical reconstruction of the south after the Civil War was neither radical nor a reconstruction. Discuss! There I feel better."
Or when Barbra Streisand showed up? That was soooo good.
Linda Richman: Oh, my God! It's Barbra! It's Barbra! You're beautiful! It's Barbra! Oh! I can die now! Barbra, you're beautiful! That's all the time we have, I have to go and die now! Barbra!

Yes I saw that! With someone doing Catherine Zeta-Jones and Adam Sandler? That was a great show.
Sean Connery: I'll take famous titties for two thousand.
Celebrity Jeopardy host: That's famous titles.

Jimmy Fallon was actually in a lot of them! I forgot about that. He did a great Hilary Swank.
My FAVORITE bit ever of Celebrity Jeopardy was when Tobey Maguire portrayed Keanu Reeves:
Alex: Keanu Reeves has an impressive negative 32,000 dollars.
Keanu: I know Kung Fu.
Alex: For the last time, no you don't.
Ah, and there's more but I don't want to type it all out.
I loved the Martha Stewart sketches with Ana Gastyer. Or the singing couple - Ana Gastyer and Will Ferrel? Does anyone know to what I'm referring? My dad didn't get it but I think they are hilarious.
Or what about the Ladies Man? "Oooh, it's a lady." Ahaha.

HAHA the Continental was hilarious!
The Harry Carrey skits were so funny!! Will Ferrel is a genius, & his "Best-of" video is is great..
"Hey...hey...if you were a hot dog, would you eat yourself? I know I would..I'd be so delicious.."
"If you had to choose between being the top scientist in your field or getting Mad Cow Disease, which would you choose?..........Oh good, I was worried you would choose Mad Cow."
LOL Ok I'm cracking myself up..gotta go...
