I haven't watched it since the first season--it's been the law of diminishing returns ever since anyway. Kelly Clarkston is really talented, but the winners have not been up to par since.
World Idol was really interesting and good. I liked the Canadian contestant and "Arabic World" Diana. The Polish judge and contestant acted like they didn't know how to behave in public--it was funny/sad. I also liked rocker Peter from Belgium who got in Simon's face. Way to go, grungy dude!
I've wanted to watch that WB spoof show American Superstar, where they pick the crappy singers. It looks so funny, but I feel sorry for them so don't watch it. But one of the contestants makes me laugh SO hard every time they show him. Some chubby Asian fellow with a bob and a high-pitched voice. The latest commercial shows him frolicking through L.A. at a dead sprint. I laughed so hard that I cried.

I say to myself, "OK, I'm going to watch American Idol," but then I get bored with it. I usually watch the auditions and the last episode, maybe a couple of the first ones. I don't really care anymore, it's too much publicity.
My three favorites didn't make it. Amy Adams, Scooter Girl, and the verrry first one of auditions. The paratrooper girl? I loved her. I was in total shock when she didn't make it through. And another thing, how could Jesus and his brother make it in? They were horrible.
If this is racist, please PLEASE delete, I don't mean to offend anybody: I think the only reason Ruben and Fantasia won is becasue they were black. The only reason I'm saying this is because you hear of white people wanting the black people to win, but I've never heard of a black person wanting a white one to win. Maybe I just didn't hear it? And again: Mods, if this is offensive, I'm soo sorry, please delete! I didn't mean to offend anybody, I really didn't!

All I gotta say is the only part of American Idol that I ever watch is the beginning with the hilarious off-key people. I don't think a whole show about that is funny - just little bits.
If people think going on some show is going to make them famous, good for them. Me, I'm a realist. You gotta work harder than some show with some dude that puts people down. I mean seriously: if anything, Simon Cowell is the one who is getting the best publicity of all of the people. It's the frickin' Simon Cowell show.
Just my opinion.

I don't watch it...
But I've been wondering for a while now...
Why the hell do they show it in the UK?!
Haven't we got enough with Pop Idol, Hells Kitchen, Big Bro 5.... I could go on....!

They showed American Idol in Australia and I was watching it to see how it compares to australian idol and I find the first few weeks of the auditioning quite funny. Some people just crack me up like William Hong, lol.
I knew fantasia was gonna win, shes soo good

Yeah, I totally agree. It's debasing music today. You don't even know if these people can write music, but they get to be in show buisness anyway, just because they won a talent show. Jeeze I hate that show. I wish I could meet the people who created it so I could kick the crap out of them.

i don't think i've ever watched an entire episode, i've seen only seen random parts when i'm at a friends house and it's on or something like that. i think the show is so retarded and boring...i couldn't name any of the people that were on it for my life. i don't watch any reality tv shows really..like that one, 'the restaurant'...what in the name of gosh is so interesting about a man opening up a restaurant, seems strange to me.
