Elijah did sort of the same thing after LOTR by making movies that were totally opposite of LOTR. But he doesn't have a body like Daniel's so perhaps that's why he's been more conservative. Also, I doubt that Elijah has been offered leading man roles that involve nudity. There will be some nudity in The Oxford Murders and quite a lot in The Passenger (the Iggy Pop biopic) if that ever actually gets underway.
Film companies don't perceive Elijah as sexy the way his fans do. I think they see him more as a character actor. Just my opinion, of course. |
I think it was really brave and right too, that Daniel play more "adult" roles, even nude. I mean, it must be really frustating, that everybody only sees you as the cute, innocent harry.  And Daniel have to play Harry for SEVEN times, which can be more a problem to him for later roles than Elijah with his Hobbit-role. And Elijah did more roles before LOTR than Daniel b4 HP! I hope for him, that he will be taken as a serious actor like Elijah.
But Yeux, Elijah did some movies at least shirtless when he was about Daniels age (Bumbleflee, Flipper, Ice Storm; and i have to say, that his body was quite skinny and comparable with Daniels, and i compare them when they were in the same age, which is more reasonable, in my opinion), but never nude. I don't think that he's ashamed of his body, but a little bit conservative. And on actual Photos, Lij is quite skinny now (but in the healthy way). And i don't think, that the film companies perceive Daniel as more capable for sexy characters including nudity than Elijah, so they don't offer him such roles. Lij can also get his body trained, as Daniel had to do for Equus. But like Lij said, he can afford to be picky when it comes to his roles, so he only picks those, which are interesting for him and perhaps "conservative" too. We never know, if there are also "nude" roles under the offerings to him. Daniel is perhaps more open-minded in that meaning. That's what i think.

I always fancied Rupert and was never that bothered about Daniel, but wow he does look fine in those first 3 photographs I might have to change my opinion on him.

Those photoshoots are amazing, and Elijah really looks like Dan on those.
Hmm, doesn't Dan looks like Ryan Atwood from The O.C [I forgot the actor's name] in the photoshoots, especilly the last ones?

Dan is the best looking guy ever, I've loved him since the last 4 years...I guess him and Elijah look similar, probably why I like Elijah.
P.s. I went to watch Equus, It was absolutly amazing...Dan looked gorgeous.
