Personally I won't say that I don't think that he's looking good at the moment but I'm not sure if total nakedness is really necessary. I prefer men with their clothes on to be honest, or at the most shirtless- but I think I'm in the minority on this one.

I understand this is about a boy obsessed with horses, but what's with this chick? Looks like a cheap porn film. Well, I know I'm judging on face-value right now.... but looks interesting.....

*clicks.......Elijah?!?!!*
I have never, EVER seen a profile of him with so much resemblance. He really is growing up. With facial hair.
And I really don't care if he does nude scenes, as long as no horses are harmed in the production. Which I'm sure they won't be.

Thanks for those pics and the article! It'd be quite something to watch this play, I feel. I wonder what that girl has to do with the story, too.

Probably a love interest, but who knows her exact involvement. I wish I could go to the UK and see the play. I hope they're a traveling play and they come to the States.

I figure that if Dan's mature enough to take on a role like that, then he should be left alone. Its his decision. And its not like hes still 12 or anything.
Besides, the play calls for nudity. He's just being an artiste and making sacrifices for his art
I heard that they had a male ballet dancer playing the horse. And, yeah, I think he looks scarily like Elijah.

I saw these pictures a few days ago (linked from MuggleNet, of course... haha). I'm actually very impressed with his decision to take on this role. He may only be 17, but he's a very wise 17. I think it's definitely the right move for him. Doing something like this is going to wake up those out there who still can only see him as Harry Potter.
I remember reading about the concept when he was first cast in the role, and I was a little bit unsure. But after seeing these pictures.... well, heh, let's just say I'm not exactly unsure anymore. I feel almost dirty admitting that he looks absolutely delicious. Hahaha.
The nudity thing... yeah, it's kind of extreme. But no one is going to be forced to see the play. Therefore, I don't see what the problem is. Dan is a big boy now, and if this is what he wants to do, more props to him. I personally could never go naked on a stage. Then again, he is only acting; it's just a role. I have a lot of respect for him for taking such a gamble, and I really hope it pays off positively for him.

I couldn't agree with you more, Flummoxed. I think you've stated this perfectly.
Here's an article and a couple more pics I haven't seen before.
New Dan article in This is London
This is London has published a new interview with Dan Radcliffe, in which he discusses his upcoming role in Equus. In the wake of the new promotional images being splashed across the media, Dan talks about his developing acting skills, the demands of stage performances, and explains why he is performing scenes in the play nude.
"We've done the scene a couple of times in rehearsal. I had no particular qualms. There's nothing that would stop me getting my kit off if that's what the work demands. The key to serious acting is to lose your inhibitions, to become free and fearless."
Looks like the workouts are paying off....

For a gorgeous high rez version of the above photo, take a look at this....

If you go directly to the Equus Promo Shots Gallery, you can see all the photos in high rez that have been posted to date.

I have to say that I really admire Daniel for taking up such a challenge. And I agree with what Flummoxed said, it is the prefect way for him to get away from his Harry Potter image. If Dan wants to get away from that image, he needs to do roles that are as far away from Harry as possible. If he doesn't, he can probably say goodbye to his acting career.
I also don't see what's wrong with nude scenes. As long as the story requires them, that is. I think Daniel is mature and old enough to make his own decisions and we shouldn't judge him or interfere. Only Daniel has the right to decide what's good for him and we should respect his decisions. And I'm sure that the people behind the scenes are aware of the fact that he's only 17.
