"love is like an itching in my heart" by the supremes...or is it diana ross?
ah, same difference.
yeah we did things like that while in alabama. we built a fort as well. not as good as they did in the movie, but we were proud of it.
i think life is like a bowl of cherries means even though life looks sweet, it can be full of pits!

I watched that movie some years ago and it is one of my favorite Elijah´s works. He is so talented... and so young, it is very impressing.

I saw The War on TV a while back. I'd like to buy the DVD.
Elijah's performance made me cry. I don't cry often at movies. Of course, I have a son about the age that Elijah was when he filmed this, and I couldn't imagine him losing his Daddy. Elijah's performance in this was amazing.

Thanks for the beautiful siggie and icon, Deenan!

I cried whilst watching the War, too. I saw it so long ago that I can't remember most of it now. I do recall liking it a lot, and Elijah was such a good actor, not just for his age, but in general.

| I agree, Kathrin, the best is yet to come. Just wish someone would come up with a dynamite script, top flight director and a film that would give him a chance at an Oscar. I'd LOVE to see him do a film with Ron Howard as director. Bet they could really relate to one another.

I just saw The War for the first time today. It was on TV and I just happened to catch it. I think I missed the first half hour of it, but I saw the rest. I just have to say I was very impressed with Elijah in this movie. The character he played had so many dimensions that Elijah was able to portray even at such a young age. I was very impressed with how well Elijah was able to play into the lifestyle this movie required. And what I mean is that this movie definately had a date to it. Its setting was right after the end of WWII and no child born after that time could ever imagine the torment people went through during the war. Elijah was able to play the role of a war child and make it feel so real. That really impressed me! His emotions, tenderness, bravery, and way of staying true to his word during this entire movie were all so typical of Elijah and I think thats what helped make this a great movie. The casting for this film was perfect! And I really want to see it again, the whole way through this time.

i saw it, oh my goodness he did great. At the end i couldn't stop crying. It was so sad, excpecially since I lost my father(not the same way, he is alive, he ran off for another younger woman, which i am happy to say he is now living alone or so i hear) and i have not seen my father in 6 years. The feelings, the tears he were emoting were so heartfelt. He is one amazing actor.
