Elijah as a character with a father figure

... too long of a topic.
Okay... so I've been brainstorming lately for a character that was inspired by Elijah a few years ago, and who I pictured to play as my character's father/mentor figure.
At first I really liked the idea of Robin Williams as a potential father, such as his character spying on Elijah's character (the son) and his date at a fancy restaurant. What a comedy that would be!
As I ventured further, I found the perfect actor to play a dad to Elijah's character;

It's odd... I know, but it just... really clicks.
Funny since they starred in a short film together when Elijah was only a little boy.

very cool topic, but it seems more like a film type thread, hence, the move.
gary sinise is a good choice for a father character. i've thought that the likes of dustin hoffman portraying his father in a movie, but i really like the idea of this guy.
