Hmm, Kevin Kline, Steve Martin, Elijah Wood and Ryan Phillipe... Good cast. It sounds like an interesting story.

Hmm, well, I like Elijah and Kevin Kline, but personally I'm not a huge fan of Steve Martin or Ryan Phillipe.

Elijah's filming a new movie called "Picasso At the Lapin Agile" it's still in devolopment.

*Hayden Christensen will also be starring in it.
*it's a comedy/fantasy/drama
*It's directed by Fred Schepisi

This is what it's about:
"Comedy about the events which occur at a fictional 1904 meeting between Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein at a Paris bar called the Lapin Agile. As Einstein explains his Theory of Relativity and Picasso becomes inspired to complete a new painting, the bar regulars witness the creative processes of these two 20th century geniuses. Before the night is through, the Lapin Agile is visited by another great figure of the 20th century - Elvis Presley. "

Sounds very interesting. So by all the information that's been leaked out on certain sites, I'm getting a little suspicion that this might actually be a real movie he's going to be in... but no one has talked about it, even Elijah, and it's not on IMDb.

I've seen the play, a few friends of mine were in a production on my college campus last year.  When I first heard, I could not imagine who Elijah would play...but Einstein?  We shall see...

But the play is good, very interesting.  For what Steve Martin has been lacking in work lately (Mr. pathetic remake), he is a damn good writer.  After I saw the play, I felt so badly that such genius must be wasted doing 'Cheaper by the Dozen' bastarizing the original (which was based on a true story).

Anyway, I digress...

I read somewhere that the movie has been put on hold because of lack of funding but Steve Martin wants the project to go ahead still and is hoping he can hang on to the original cast.

If it does go ahead I hope Elijah stays in the cast.  I think he'd make a really good Einstein!

The last thing I heard about this film, which was back when Steve Martin's Pink Panther film bombed opened, was that the film was on indefinite hold because they couldn't come up with a decent script. This was according to Steve himself in an interview. So, there's not development going on, no casting, nothing firm until the time they can write a script that someone likes.

hmm...

wouldn't you think that steve himself would do the script? i know there are things that need to be changed when adapting a movie from another source, and i would think steve would be able to do that.

maybe he's too busy making films like the pink panther.
