Quote from: Romeny on March 01, 2008, 07:43:27 am Yes, lets hope that in this case silence is really golden. If it seems that we his fans have been waiting so long for something concrete to happen how much more so do you think it feels for Elijah?
|
"silence is golden." i like that. i'm sure elijah is more on edge about all this than we are.
if you want to know a little more about this film, jaramajo stumbled on a great interview elijah gave about it. he talks about his preparations to play iggy, so it really looks like it's going to happen. right now, i don't think it's a question of if or when, but how soon.
since he talks a lot about the oxford murders in that interview, i removed that part but left the remarks about iggy.

if you want to see the the whole interview, i've posted a link the OM thread.

Thanks for the You Tube link, Deenan.
My goodness, he's certainly got his work cut out! But it's clear that Elijah knows exactly what's got to be worked on for this role, so I don't think he'll let himself fail! I do hope the film's got a great director and supporting cast too - it would be awful for all Elijah's preparation work to go to waste. But I think I remember reading somewhere that Iggy had approved the script, calling it a 'work of art' - so that's a good sign, anyway.

the director, nick gomez has done some work on dramatic television shows like the shield, the practice, the sopranos and oz. not your everyday romp in the lily fields shows, so i think he'll bring a sharp edge to this film which it's going to need.
i didn't think elijah had much body fat either, but apparently, he did. it seems to be gone now judging how thin he looks lately. iggy has a sinewy physique, and elijah has to replicate that among other things. he certainly has his work cut out for him, and i can't wait to see the final results.

Thanks for the link Deenan. Is it just me or does Elijah seem a bit nervous about this? he kept giving little laughs through the interview which sounded anxious to me. Looking forward to seeing what he looks like.

I think he's more than a bit nervous! To quote from Wikipedia: "Wood revealed during an interview that he is 'scared to death' of doing it, because he is a huge fan of Pop and he doesn't want to be the 'person responsible for screwing that up.' " I'm sure he's aware that portraying the lead in a biopic can win an actor huge accolades if it's done well, but equally huge derision if they mess it up - so the pressure to play Iggy well must be immense. But I do think Elijah is experienced enough to turn that nervous energy into a fine and edgy performance.
I wonder what the health implications are of losing all your body fat? I suppose it's OK for a short while. One would hope that Elijah has access to a good nutritionist and trainer.

The other day i saw a picture of that guy "Iggy Pop", i can't imagine Elijah like him... it would be a lot of bitter work , well physically... acting... this is the big chance to prove what kind of actor he is, i hope he make a great job.-

Any news on filming? It's almost the end of March now. Once this thing finally does start filming, will we get any pictures, do you think? Or will it be so top-secret that we'll just have to guess that the filming's going along?
I just want to say this: for his sake and for everybody's sake, I hope his passion for the role outweighs the fact that he is "scared to death" of doing it. I assume this is the case.

Quote from: Blue Star on March 26, 2008, 02:32:07 am update: still. not. filming.
in an recent magazine article that can be seen here, elijah says he's still waiting to start this film.
i thought this was going to be it, but more waiting. if this keeps up, elijah's going to be too old to make the movie.

Deenan my love -
Don't joke about this matter...
Remember Elijah was originally cast in the movie THUMBSUCKER -(eventually made with Lou Pucci in the title role), but pre-production dragged on interminably and in the end both Elijah and director Mike Mills decided he was too old to play a seventeen year old.

I noticed that he's still in limbo. He slimmed down so much for this so how much longer must he maintain that?

I personally was wondering this. I mean, if this film has been in production for a while, he must be keeping a very close eye on his weight...and if that involves losing 'all body fat', then its probably not good for him, is it?

i'm sure it's difficult keeping a lower body weight for so long. there are so many tempting foods to enjoy!
during the radio interview elijah gave a couple of days ago, he showed up with some kind of health drink, so i suspect that's what he's been doing a lot of.

i don't think he has to loose all body fat, because that's not healthy. the good thing is that, although he's dropped weight, he's not emaciated. he's always been thin, but not muscular. i'm sure he's getting the proper care to make sure he doesn't waste away before he can start working out those muscles.
