If Elijah does this movie, I'm sure he's much more intelligent than to start taking drugs, for his sake.

I still plan on reading more deeply about Iggy's life and impact, which will be just as, or even more, important for Elijah to portray as the physical appearance. And I want to listen to some Stooges on iTunes...Lij loves them, so I'm curious to listen for myself. Isn't it fun that there's a new movie to wonder about? In the article, Elijah did say this is going to happen.

Oh my god...Elijah in a thong...now I've heard everything.....
I was thinking about this one morning, after I saw a movie trailer while I was in the theater watching Brothers Grimm for a movie called Johnny Cash, starring Joaquin Phoenix. And I was thinking, the problem with Elijah being Iggy Pop and then with Joaquin and Jaimie Foxx is that they actually fit the type for the guy they were playing. This is an entirely different thing. I would rather see Billy Bob Thornton play Iggy Pop. Like Jack Nicholsen playing Clay Aiken, Elijah doing it would be just wrong.
And then I saw those pics of him in his prime. Hey, he doesn't look so bad! He even has the big eyes, and.....well, the first picture I think looks the most like Lij. Ohhhh, that would be so frickin' AWESOME to see Lij's flexibility AND shirtlessness too!! Yeehah!!!
But still....why is Elijah so certain to be playing this role? I just don't see it yet. I can't see how Elijah will be able to make this role work yet. Maybe not until the very day I see the movie, if that supposed movie happens in the future.
Also, didn't Elijah say one reason he didn't want to be in a rock band was because he couldn't see himself prancing around a stage? Well this guy prances around shirtless like a drunken man-wh*re! He's just so not like Elijah! I hope this last statement doesn't sound too offensive. I'm not trying to be, by any means.

Ah, caught me Blue Angel. I don't know what to think at all times. At first I was excited, then I was dreading it, then I was excited, then I was dreading it, then I was excited....you get the idea. It's just a roller coaster of thoughts. I modified my post when I was in the down mode, because it used to be positive and enthusiastic. 
Now I'm in a positive mode. This pic originated in the Sexy Lij Pictures thread (credit to Sabine's LJ), but once I saved it and looked at it from far away, I found a way he's almost shockingly revealing some physical similarity to Iggy. I've resized it for you guys, tell me if you think the same thought.
*without head in the gutter* I'm starting to see a piece of the picture fall in front of me. Maybe he can be Iggy!  Just the way he's posing and he looks skinny.
Well, that's enough of my indulgence for now. And on a side note, good god he's hot. If he plays it I think I'm gonna have serious problems dealing with the hotness.

Going way back, some people thought he couldn't play Frodo either. 
A real scorcher, isn't he?  He he I totally understand where you're coming from. But I'm betting that when we see the final outcome... there would no longer be any doubts now would there?

Well, Elijah did say in one of his interviews that he would play Iggy Pop. So I assume this article is right.
I don't know that much about Iggy Pop, but I've seen pictures of him. This may be a big challenge for Elijah.

whoa- this whole Iggy thing is quite creepy....
I think he has the talent for the role, of course...
but I really hope he doesn't go on drugs that's a bit too
into the part....

I am trying to decide whether I like him being Iggy or not...and when I understood everything right, he will be playing the young Iggy - and at that days Iggy looked not that horrible with his long blonde hair and the eyes....but he was extremly strange and always kind of hurting and destroying himself. It is a very psychic effort to play this guy...good that Elijah himself has a strong personlity. (I read some very strange things about Val Kilmer, when he was playing Jim Morrison.. .)

Hmm...I don't imagine that'll be too challenging for Elijah. For instance, in ROTK Frodo's character was totally deteriorating and he was destroying himself. And that was a psychic thing. Elijah's very talented. I can see him carrying that along seamlessly.
