He looks quite intense in these pics; it does look good. It would be great if this were the yr Sean Astin becomes a household name again.

You could be right, though I think he has remained a household name, if only for Goonies. The Goonies generation are adults now and it always surprises me how many people still think Sean is very "cool" because of that movie. LOL
Did you watch the clips? Sean looks so good in them, and yet so different now.
Wish he had THESE glasses! LOL

It's going to be on ABC, whatever that is in your area.

Ooooo...now that seems interesting. I am not a big Sci-Fi fan...but I must admit that this show is very interesting.
Here's hoping that this is the "Year of Sean"

Yes, that's true...my husband remembers him from Rudy and my children have all seen Goonies by now.
No I didn't watch the clips, my computer doesn't act right for any video's or things like that. I am so glad to hear Sean's show will be on regular TV, not on cable which I don't have.

Well, we don't have an airdate yet, though I suspect it will be one of the two shown in September before the new season starts. I suppose it all depends on how well the series does. Sean plays the scientist who invents a sort of robotic bird that intervenes to save lives when a murder is about to occur. From the way the clips sounded, he wants to keep the birds very carefully controlled, to "err on the side of caution". James Cromwell plays his boss who wants to give the birds more freedom, to the dismay of Sean's character.

Any more news on Watchbird? I haven't had a lot of time to keep up...and normally I don't watch much TV.

Not a thing. Yeux and I both watched the first episode last week and were profoundly disappointed in spite of the work of Judy Davis and Sam Waterston (a fave of mine). It was just too predictable and pat.
Since the complaint is that this show is too intelligent for the audience, perhaps they have chosen to show the LESS chanllenging ones. I have no idea, but I know the one last week wasn't too brainy for anyone. There is pretty much NOTHING I'm enjoying on tv this summer, though, so I'll watch it again this week and see if things improve. Meerkat Manor is starting this Friday, too.

That is too bad! However, maybe it will just have a slow start. *Hope springs eternally*
After all...it took Seinfield a few seasons to develop a big following.
I love those Meerkat clips I have seen. Sean's narration really does seem to add some charm and warmth.

I was on the ABC website yesterday and "Watchbird" is definately not going to be shown. My hope is that there will be a dvd with "two additional unaired episodes!"
Culpie, I personally think that Sean's narration MAKES Meerkat Manor, but then I would...LOL I wish he got more credit for it.

As a custom title for me, useful I would like it to be. Something descriptive, about me I give: I am "The Limerick Lady."

Thanks for the links to the clips. Looks like an interesting episode. I hope it gets shown sometime.
I saw part of the first episode because my MIL had it on while we were there. I thought the acting seemed pretty good, but I didn't see it all so it was hard to evualate the story.

Well, I watched the second episode day before yesterday and it was, if anything, worse. The ACTING is excellent in the things but the stories are DREADFULLY written! I really think they must be showing the least intelligent episodes! My bet is that this will come out on dvd and Sean's episode will be included then. I have a feeling it might be one of the best, the ones the network thought required too much brainpower for the masses....
Hugs, Rach
