Does it seem like the ppl who often do the most are forgotten the quickest? I don't think I wanna read the book, I like to see Frodo the way I see him on the screen. I won't ever forget him, and I'm too young to know much about the Kennedies but I bet u r right, if he and JFK were here, what different ways we'd take.

Oh no....read the book! I absolutely loved it and have read it many times. You get a deepth from reading it that just can't be put into the movie....it would be too long a movie. I have a greater understanding of the characters because of having read the books. It won't leave you sad....
Yes, I think it is true that most true heros are unsung....sad, but that is what happens when people are truly humble and work for best of mankind instead of on their own personal pride.

I think Frodo is:
Adorable Sweet Innocent Sexy Wise
I am sure there are more just can't think of them right now.

Yeah he's all those, and cute too, I just wish they'd make the book easier to read, that's one reason I couldn't read it, it was written in a strange way to me.

I would have gone with Exuasted but there 's no "E". Tolkien really portrays post traumatic stress disorder with that character. Poor thing. I think that Frodo was in many ways a reflection of either Tolkien or someone he knew well.

I can agree that. I can name straight away at least few things that Tolkien and Frodo have in common.
And there's another thing too. Can't say that he had a easy life but at least he had a happy ending that he deserved. In WWI Tolkien lost most of his very close friends and became estranged of the last one alive because nothing was the same again (notice Grey Havens).
The last one who fell wrote to him just before his death, hoping that Tolkien could tell what he tried to say if he happened to die. And he sure did great job with that and many other things (remember the Red Book Frodo was writing?).
|
Your right Lorie. I bet Tolkien was writing alot about himself with Frodo and all the stress of what he had to deal with. Poor Tolkien. But Bless him he left us with alot of good stuff. I wonder how he thought of all of that, elves and hobbits and so forth.
