Gandalf the grey made me smile with his kindness. Gandalf the white sent chills going down my spine because he was so powerful and it seemed he always won... but the kind Gandalf will always be my favourite just because he seems like a grandfather figure as most of you have already said...

I like Gandalf the grey because he's funny, and sometimes angry but a fun loving person. Well just like a grandfather who would make you laugh with his silly jokes.so I think Gandalf the Grey is the one Ilike

I like both of them because they are still the same person!  But if I had to pick one it would be Gandolf the GREY because he seems not as "tight" as he does as Gandolf the white!!! Even though as Gandolf the white he is much more powerful and helps alot more with Frodo and the RING!!!

I'll say Gandalf the white because he looks more powerful and charming. I loved the scene that he pretends to be grey but then he takes off his grey clothes.( IN TTT )He really shines at this scene.

gandalf the grey....because his power is more hidden and he's mysterious. you kinda look at him and think, "ya, old man.....what else?" but underneath there's power like nothing else......

I prefer Gandalf the White because the only reason why he changes from Grey to White is cause he gets even stronger and more powerful y'know, against Sauromon, and initially kicks butt!!

Yes! Yes! exactly. Gandalf the White is definately the coolest, he kicks major butt. O.k. as the grey he was friendly, almost grandfatherly(is that a word?) But as the white he's all that and more, he still smiles those warm smiles and talks affectionately about the hobbits but He kicks ass.
And of course the outfit is sooooo much nicer.

I voted Gandalf the Grey but now that I've read your comments...
I have to say that in the books Gandalf the White was the one who did help keep Gondor together and helped at Helm's Deep... but he did not go back to the Shire.. only to the boat at the Grey Havens... after his task was done.... I truly liked Gandalf the Grey becasue I thought he was more in touch with the Hobbits and Frodo... I felt Gandalf the White became more of a politican and he had to I know to help win the war but... I missed Gandalf the Grey's innocense but then they all lost that in the end didn't they.

grey, as some other ppl said, he's more fun loving and happy, and he seems to have a bit of a sense of humor as well
