Quote from: SuzieQ on January 06, 2005, 07:23:33 pm Thank you, Suzie! When I saw that quote in the book I thought, "I have to use that on A&F!" I have several other quotes from the book underlined and plan to change them every couple of weeks but this one was one of my favorite.
I "need" to see some more Sam and Frodo scenes tonight. I didn't get to see as many as I wanted to last night because it was so late. I "need" to see that Mt Doom scene and the lava rock scene and the Grey Havens scene. *sighs*

I have to say though, his body didn't do to bad in '50 First Dates' and he was a freaking riot...I didn't even realize it was him at first.

"I may not be able to carry it for you, but i can carry you."

Stop reading my signature. Don't deny it. You're reading it. I can see you. You're giving it the casual little once-over. How rude. Didn't your mother teach you better?

well,my most favorite phrase not only of Sam,but of whole LOTR trilogy definitely is: 'I can`t carry it for you,but I can carry you'...There are just NO words on this earth to describe what I felt the first time I saw this...but all I can say,is that this phrase really shook me very strong...and I still cry when watching it

That is my favorite quote in all of LOTR, too! Those are such powerful, wondeful, moving words. I still cry over those words, too.

i loved how he kept going back to his promise he made to gandolf to never leave Frodo. "Don't you leave him Samwise Gamgee, and i don't mean to, i don't mean to." that always brought tears to my eyes.. How he was so believing in keeping that one promise, and probably all his promises he made. I think that's one thing we have in common. I have never broken a promise in my life. But of course, i have lots of other things i need to work on, like procrastination. lol thats a big one. but yeah I just love it when he says that. And when he talks about Rosie Cotten dancing with ribbons in her hair. And how if he was to marry anyone, it would have been her. It just brings him closer to human level.

Do you remember the Shire, Mr. Frodo? It'll be spring soon and the orchards will be in blossom, and the birds will be nesting in the hazel thicket. And the whistle in the summer barley in the Lower fields. And eating the first of the strawberries with cream. Do you remember the taste of strawberries?
Then let us be rid of It! Once and for all! Come on, Mr. Frodo! I can't carry It for you, but I can carry you! Come on!

I know! I love those quotes, too. I don't know how many times I have seen that scene and I STILL cry every single time! My children are just kind of like, "Oh, we are at that scene, I guess Mom is going to cry again!" My daughter even ran to get me a tissue the other day when we got to that scene. It is my favorite scene in all of three of the LOTR movies.

For me it HAS to be the 'theres some good left in this world' speech. It just has such an impact and is utterly relevant to real issues not just the story line of the film. I think the effect it has on gollum is fantastic too... infact thats my favourite gollum bit as well. aww i love it, i want to watch it again.

I think one of my favorite scenes between Sam and Frodo that has yet to be mentioned here is from TTT:
Sam: I wonder if we'll ever be put into songs or tales. Frodo: [turns around] What? Sam: I wonder if people will ever say, 'let's hear about Frodo and the Ring.' And they'll say 'yes, that's one of my favorite stories. Frodo was really courageous, wasn't he, Dad?' 'Yes, my boy, the most famousest of hobbits. And that's saying alot.' Frodo: [continue walking] You left out one of the chief characters - Samwise the Brave. I want to hear more about Sam. [Frodo stops and turns to Sam] Frodo: Frodo wouldn't got far without Sam. Sam: Now Mr. Frodo, you shouldn't make fun; I was being serious. Frodo: So was I. [they continue to walk] Sam: Samwise the Brave...
That scene gets me everytime *luffs Sam*
