i figure that if New Line have the rights or whatever they probably wouldn't want anyone else to make the Hobbit. you wouldn't really want it coming out looking completely different to Lord of the Rings it would be like really weird. But i'm pretty sure PJ is discussing after King Kong or something like that. he said it in one of his interviews i think

i thought peter jackson already had the rights from the tolkien household to do the hobbit... just under some conditions(only peter jackson can do it and i think that a few actors need to remain the same) i read it on IMDB.com probally 4 months ago(and i dont think they spread rumors)

I read somwhere in the paper that the actors were ready to play in the hobbit. Billy boyd said that they were going to play the reletives of the characters i think  I think probably all of the hobbits have agreed to play in the Hobbit.

i love the hobbit so much its such a great story it will make a brill film

It would be sooo great if we could see The Hobbit in wide-screen. I read it after LOTR and I loved it! Bilbo's really funny there  So I really hope they do the movie.. I hope Peter Jackson does it..

I am very angry that Time Warner didn't bid high enough to out bid Sony for the purchase of MGM!! Now the distribution rights belong to Sony, and the rights to make the film belong to Peter Jackson, who I presume, would like to make The Hobbit with New Line (Time Warner).
WHAT A MESS!!
On top of all of that, The Hobbit needs to be made before Sir Ian McKellen has a hard time looking the same, if not younger, than he does in the LOTR. No, Gandalf doesn't have to look younger, but he mustn't look older, you know.

I read that article too..
But don't get your hopes up too high yet. PJ is supposed to film "The Lovely Bones" after he's done with "King Kong." So if the Hobbit happens, it'll be after that now..
I want to see it filmed just as much as all of you.. but it's gonna be tough. Meep.. I hope they work it out.
