I haven't posted a serious comment in any Elijah thread for the best part of two years (at least!) but I figured I'd answer this question.
I first saw Elijah in Back To The Future II and Radio Flyer but I was more interested in other things at that age. I first became truly aware of Elijah Wood when (as with many of you0 The Lord Of The Rings first came out. I was thirteen years old and when i saw the trailer for the movie I thought it looked ridiculous. But I was watching my favorite Saturday morning Television show and they had Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, and Elijah Wood as guests. I'll admit that when I first saw Elijah I thought he was gay. He was simply very cute and very...well put together. In all honesty he looked too 'pretty' to be straight. I honestly cannot remember a word Elijah said in the interview, the person I remember most is Sean Astin.
Anyway, a week or so later I was dragged by my parents to see The Fellowship Of The Ring and during the prologue I was thinking I was gonna be sitting there and falling asleep. And then there was that scene. Frodo was sitting under that tree reading that book and then there was the close-up when he stood and realizes that Gandalf is in town. My first thought was "Okay he's cute, this won't be too bad." Remember please I was thirteen and just discovering that secret which had been kept from me for so long. Guys are hot. So I'm sitting there and much to my surprise I enjoyed the entire movie. We left and my sister-in-law told me she knew I'd like the 'Frodo guy' because of my age (by-the-by she was into Orlando, who was apparently the more grown-up crush).
Within the next two days I had purchased the first book and a book about the making of the movie.
I went back to my group (long story but this was my version of High School) and all they heard was "Elijah-this" and "Elijah-that" (or more accurately "Elliah-this" and "Elliah-that").
Well the next two years or so were spent thinking of Elijah and how cute our babies would look *ahem*
Then when I finished watching The Return Of The King (and had finished wiping away the tears) something happened inside. I looked at Elijah and thought to myself "He's not that cute..."
And essentially, I've grown up now. I look for something deeper than Elijah. The guys I'm into now are more...diverse and more active than Elijah. I give Elijah credit for doing Indie films but that's not enough. I need something more. I need someone more grown-up.
And since everyone likes this quote I shall end with it
Quote from: Deenan (O.L.C.) on May 07, 2009, 02:13:23 pm my fandom for elijah is like a roller coaster ride that never ends. it has its highs and lows, but never a dull moment. | My fandom is like a roller coaster ride that had it's up, downs, and dull moments. And now I've gotten off the roller coaster and seen a real bad looking brother who I want to get down with instead of Elijah.

Nice Description!
I was a fan of his since LOTR. This fanship has certainly developed. It's been 10 years and I still love him with the same amount of love(if it really has an amount ) I never stopped liking him, not that I want to.

Your smile can throb the oceans and can shake the sky Your eyes can fuel the fire, beat the thunder and can never lie They can glow like a diamond The shine that I can never fight When I look at your face I can see the moonlight
