Elijah speaks out on gay rumors

Here is an article I found just by chance. I laughed when I read this. It's from MSNBC

Also by chance Elijah was on one of my local morning news shows. He said that he had to wear contacts under those goofy glasses he wears in EII to even out the magnification.

Thank you for the article, Gina. I'm glad Lij has a good sense of humour and actually surprised me by the way he likes that webpage. He's considers it hilarious  When I saw that site I was pretty annoyed, but if Lij likes it, the next time I visit it I'm not going to feel upset anymore. I wish I could have his sense of humour. I'm too serious

Good to know he has a sense of humour and realises that being called gay is hardly an insult.

LilyAsh I totally agree. Elijah was politely but defintely gently bashing not only VVG but the whole gay rumour nonsense.
These news stories are all twisting it around but if any of you saw Elijah on Conan he WAS being sarcastic and you can tell he laughts AT these sites and rumours not WITH them.
Saying they have 'too much time on their hands' should tell the manip people what he really thinks of what they do. He was just being polite by saying they did good work because in a strictly artistic sense they do. But that doesn't mean he likes the whole thing.
Anyone who saw his reaction at the Prague press conference when he was given that 'gift' porn picture by those two fans and how he was obviously embarrassed, he blushed so red it was painful to see, can see that this thing really does bother him no matter how kind he tries to be about. His saying these things are 'hilarious' doesn't really mean he really feels that way. Just look at his face in this clip.

Hmmm...I watched the Conan interview and I've seen the clip where the "fan" gave him the porn picture (by the way, which made me angry, b/c it seems like they were trying to make fun of him--and I think ANYONE in that situation would be embarrassed, especially caught off guard).
At the same time I do think Elijah is amused at how absurd the whole gay/slash thing is, particularly taking it to that extent. A lot of what we see or read on the Internet is silly. But he also knows that being gay isn't an insult, or anything "bad." He has friends that are gay, including Ian McKellen.
I think he is showing the perfect attitude. He's very grounded, he knows what's real and what is crazy fan nonsense. He's not going to let other people's opinions or rumors affect him, as much as he can help it. It can't be something he loves hearing, but I'm glad that he's not making a big deal out of it or complaining, as other actors would, and often do.

Thanks Raewood for the link. Lij is so profesional for not get angry. But poor thing, he looks so embarrased!! God gave him the gift of patience. Otherwise, he would be furious!!. I don't blame gay people, they are born like that. So it not their fault. People who are making fun of others in hideous ways seems to have an inferiority complex or low self-steem.

I just wish some fans would show better sense, in general. What would possess anyone to give him a porn picture?! Even if it was a doctored porn photo of him with Liv Tyler...it's just in severely bad taste.
It's just unfortunate that he has to put up with stuff like that.
