i wrote a letter and sent it to his fan mail box. 3 and a half months later, i got a preprint autograph!  i use it as a bookmark.
i wrote another letter to an address i think is elijah's mother's guest house. still waiting for a reply, i think hes busy.

I wrote Elijah Wood a letter years ago when he was in New Zealand filming LOTR and I got a reply back.
I remember hearing somewhere about the movie filming there. So I looked up the studio where they would be filming some of the scenes and sent him a letter to the studio Elijah Wood c/o Peter Jackson.
I wrote something about how excited I was that he would be playing Frodo Baggins, how my favorite movie was The Bumblebee Flies away and how inspiring the movie was, how the first movie I saw of his was Adventures of Huckfinn and that's when I became a huge fan. I included a picture of him that I printed from a really crappy printer.. it was a picture from the movie Flipper.
About 6 weeks later, I had forgotten that I sent the letter, and I got a letter in the mail with no return address but had a New Zealand stamp. I seriously said, what would I get from New Zealand... and it instantly hit me... holy crap... I opened it and it was my picture I sent. He had not only signed my picture but wrote a note on it. It said something like
"Mecal, Thank you for your support. I haven't seen this picture in a long time. It looks as if you printed it from a computer. God Bless, Elijah Wood."
So, even though he "doesn't"read fan mail, some how I got lucky. Maybe because I sent it to the studio in another country... and he had some free time.. I don't know.
It was the best ever. I sent him a thank you letter for the reply.

omg...lucky you...  im sorry, im just so deppressed...you are just the luckiest person ever!  im happy for you but a little upset. i wish i had been a fan years ago...i mean i just STARTED being a fan like less than a year ago!  but hey! i bet you deserved that letter from him! im happy for you!

i said god bless and that he is an amazing actor. if u send him a letter(or want to send another) you should talk about how much you like his acting(not to much), complement him(not to rude or private), sign it, then pray he'll answer back javascript:replaceText('%208)')
