No no, please don't say that, you're not stupid. Hope is something wonderful, it's what keeps us going. True, he doesn't read his fanmail and a lot of people do want to meet him and talk to him, but hoping is never wrong or stupid!-Gcaz
Gcaz- you brought up a lot of thoughts and questions... I personally feel that Elijah IS very busy with what he does and we as his fans can't possibly know what type of life an actor has...and when he sees his fans he always seems to be very charming and courteous . That is so special of him. Maybe that's where he gives to his fans instead of writing... maybe he just doesn't like to sit down and write.... so maybe we wish he'd write to us but maybe he's not the type to write...... What I wish for ???? I so wish he would write to his fans , pick out some letters maybe like 10 letters every six months or something. That wouldn't keep him down too much to write and sit and it would certainly make fans very happy .

ok, where is my indirect copied autographed pic? it's been 9 months! *weeps*

well i wouldn't feel too bad, i think they pick at random who they send the pictures to. i don't think everyone who sends him a letter gets an autograph.
i wouldn't take it personally, they just do it at random, from what i've heard.

Hmm...I wrote to Elijah way, way, way back in the day. (Winter of '93) and I recieved an autographed photo of him the following March. He's very young in the photo (duh), but it's definitely not a copy of his signature. (I have written to a few celebs before where I got back a copy of their siggies, and that's just not the same!) He even wrote my name and drew a heart and a peace sign. It was all very cute. I was in LUV. I was a very excited 13 year old girl when I got that. I think I did write to him a few years later, like around 1996/97, but never got anything back, so I guess I was lucky/smart to write him before he became REALLY famous.

I think fan mail is useless. If you want to communicate with Elijah, get your ass to where he is at, some premiere or whatever will do, and have the guts to approach him. I've never had a bad experience with him, he is nice and polite and when you give him something his face lights up as if it were the first time evah anyone gave him anything.Which I find pretty amazing considering we all (the fans) shower him with gifts. Anyway, the only way to get him to read your letter is to give it to him in person. Good Luck!
Ps. I think recieving cds is starting to bother him though. Imagine you are the expert on something, like you really know it, you know what you like and dislike about it, and you know exactly what of it you want and do not want. Then people start to give you it, whatever it is, and it's all about their conception of what you like, but it's usually wrong, and they expect you to be really happy about the gift 'cause hey, it's your favourite thing right? but it's all slightly off. And "slightly off" is BAD when pertaining to the one thing you love most in life. Know what I mean?

I agree with you. I don't believe in fan mail unless you would like an autographed photo and that's all you want. I believe in seizing the opportunity but the problem is that many people will never get the opportunity to talk to him. If I ever saw him, I would definitely talk to him. That would be a one-in-a-lifetime.. About the music, I know what you mean and I have seen that a lot of people give him music. Sometimes I had the feeling he was not very excited but sometimes (ComicCon for example) he seemed really excited. It could be that he is annoyed but maybe he is just such a lover of music that he is willing to try anything. I think if he doesn't like the music he can either pass it on to friends, pack it in a box or... I know how I feel if people give me books or movies I don't like, I feel a little sad about that (esp. if it's about books) but I might not know beforehand and I look at them and if I don't like them I keep them aside for another opportunity that may come along.

I'd love to just let him know how much over the years his films and things have meant to me, and the only way I can think of doing that (or at least til I grow up and get my own money!) is through fan mail. I think the CD idea might be getting a bit old, unless it was you yourself singing on it or something - I'd send him something personal, like a handmade notebook or drawing or something.

everyone once in their life either thinks of sending fan mail or does send it but for me at my point in my life I feel of the subject that to send a piece of mail and to get a reply would sort of disillusion Elijah as a celebrity for me. Do you know what I mean by that?
to say that when I was younger I sent mail to Keanu Reeves but got it sent back opened aswell

I know what you mean, but somehow I don't think Elijah would be like that on purpose, I think he probably would lve to have time to read and reply to all his fan mail but he just physically has no time...he's a pretty busy man!

I never wrote to Elijah, don't even feel the need. All you get back is a copied picture and that doesn't interest me. Besides, Elijah has said a lot of times already that he does not read his fanmail.
I do have a signed picture though that says: "Brenda, lots of love, Elijah Wood." But one of Elijah's friends arranged that for me.

I agree with you on this subject cristiel I do not feel the need either to write to elijah keeps an air of mystery on him for me, you know what I mean. And if he doesnt read his fanmail then it is good thing I do not write to him.

Yeah, why bother writing if you know he's not even going to read it?
I could deal with not getting a response if he at least read my letter, but if it never even gets to his hands, what's the point?
