Wow, thats all I have to say. . I am not even in the second chapter and I think its good lol. just on the first page! ahaha. Well, as you can see, I like this book even though I didn't read it all yet, but thats o.k.

I wasn't never a reader, but now I am because I know the right books to read, like history♥ and J.R.R. Tolkien book(s) and Shakespeare

Did anyone read this book?
And did anyone like the book?

Liz, I hate to say it, but PJ said the other day that the FIRST part won't be out till 2011 - and Christopher Tolkien is still trying to put a stop to it cos he has some issue with New Line... They haven't even written the script, let alone cast the damn thing lol

Really, thats so annoying, but why would Christopher Tolkien try to stop it I thought they liked Lord of the Rings.

Ian Mckellan has said he will play Gandalf I heard..

Apparently Christopher Tolkien refused to have anything to do with the LOTR movies, although I believe PJ DID approach him about it at the time.  I think it was one of Tolkien's GRANDSONS who was an extra in the Osgiliath scenes...

But anyway, C.T. believes New Line still owes the Tolkien Estate money (the same issue Peter himself had with them fairly recently), but whether or not he's right, it IS exceptionally annoying and frustrating for us fans!

It's great that you have found books to read that you enjoy. In my opinion that's a very important factor. I hope you have many more hours of fun reading books.

I like "The Hobbit" very much. I love the language and I can imagine everything so well. for example the dragon and Bilbo - I see them in my head when I read. I believe that a writer has created a great thing when his or her book can create pictures in your head.

I find the whole situation with the films rather confusing, not sure what to believe on any front, apart from that Ian Mckellen will be in it, which is of course a relief!  Will be interested to see how the films eventually turn out.

I'm a huge fan of the book, I read it before the Lord of the Rings, when I was a bit younger.  Which I believe was as Tolkien intended it, he wrote many of his stories for his children, and The Hobbit was one of those I believe, and he then went on to write the much darker 'The Lord of The Rings' as they grew older.  I think it's a really great book, and one that I still love reading now I'm older (I would love to read it to nephews/nieces/children, etc), and good for getting the youngsters among us into both literature and good quality fantasy writing.
