Shakespeare is/was great! I haven't read many of his works, but what I have read, I really loved!
Isn't it amazing that the stories he wrote hundreds of years ago still is very popular?

They are also very revelant to modern day life. Like Romeo & Juliet in many cases that is true...to an extent.

For me my favourite of Shakespeare's works is the Sonnets because they still have to be some of the most beautiful poems ever written.
As for the plays I've read Richard II, Macbeth and Hamlet and my favourite of those 3 has to be Richard II.
I've seen too many live theatre productions of Shakespeare to mention.

We read MacBeth in school, which I thought was quite good, and I've seen the version of Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo Di Caprio and Clare Danes. It's very good. I do keep planning on reading more Shakespeare - though play's aren't really my thing.

O Romeo, Romeo Wherefore thy art thou Romeo? Deny Thy Father and rufuse thy name For I Will No Longer Be A Capulet
I think I am missing a line :p But that is one of my fav. quotes.
Plus, I love the old version of Romeo and Juliet(film) that was made in 1968. Its better than the Leonardo DiCaprio version lol.

Because I am really good in my English class, (allright, you might not always see it, but in Holland I'm kinda a big deal in school okay... I got really high grades for speech and writing letters-exams ) my teacher told me that I could skip one lesson per week with my best friend. We had to do another exercise. We had to read Macbeth and analyse it. We never got to the analysing-part, but reading it was fun!
Once a year in our school we have a special day to celebrate the day Rome was founded. On that day we do all kind things and my English teacher asked me if we wanted to help her with a little Shakespear. We had to write a biography on his life and we did a little bit of his play. It was really nice. We even watched a little bit or Romeo and Juliet the movie.
