i think that both HP and LOTR's authors took a lot from myths everybody knows, and thazt's why we find similarities...for instance, lots of things are taken from the bible or from greek tragedies and mytholigies in HP. In LOTR as well.

Lets just say, every bugger is ripping off every bugger else!
No- seriously. I once read somewhere that if someone writes a book, then that gives another few people ideas for their own books. Their's give others ideas and so on so forth until the end of time. So therefor, everyone's just ripped off the very first book ever written.

Maybe.

Maybe not...

My bro's big on philosopy and psychology- wouldn't know it to look at him! The theology course I'm taking includes philosopy- I'll be spouting philosophical crud before you know it

Yeah- anything about any footy player would bore me silly.

I tried to read Moby Dick once, and that didn't work and isn't ever happening again.  Great Expectations was really boring too... but I liked Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol.  Other stuff I wouldn't read is romance (which my mom loves) and political books.  Some non-fiction but it depends because I've had to read some things that turned out to be really interesting.

Frantic footy fans, those who want to hear about his personal life (why?!) and 10 year olds who idolise him probably buy Beckhams biographies. God knows why!

Philosophic stuff- hmm. One I heard yesterday-
"The question is not what is the meaning of life, the question is why do we ask?"

A book I've been recomended- 'Sophie's World'. It's a philosopy based novel apparently. *Shrug*

Ever read any of the 'Point Sci-fi' books? Honestly- with 'imagination' like that, you could go write for them!
