The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien is my all-time fav. I also love this book called The Raging Quiet. It's just a lovely story. I'm wanting to read the auto-biography of this Australian entertainer, it should be good.

Anne Rice has written so many, how do I choose?! I guess I could say that I don't have a fave book, as much as I just have a fave author, the unbelievable Ms. Rice, creator of The Vampire Chronicles (Interview With the Vampire,) and The Mayfair Witches (The Witching Hour.) I strongly suggest that everyone read at least one of those books, you will be an immediate fan. I also have to mention Shakespere...Romeo and Juliet in particular. I'm a romantic at heart

Yea! Harry Potter. lol! Go HP! ok. that aside (yes I like Harry Potter) ...
To Kill a Mockingbird (get the original version, not the one for schools.) and i honestly didn't think I'd like it, cuz I never read a funny book before but SICK PUPPY BY CARL HIASSEN is hilarious. Its about an extreme environmentalist that wants to save Toad Island. ;D and RED DRAGON is really really really good. buy it dammit.

JustBishop, I just finished reading Queen of the Damned... it took me one night, I couldn't put it down! I found the start of Interview with a Vampire a little slow though, I wasn't used to her style of writing, but I really enjoyed the books. Is the Body Thief the next book in the series, and if not, what is?
Galadriel, I agree completely there...most books I read I end up loving... If I don't like it when I start, I read the last two pages, If I don't like them, I just put back the book! Therefore I won't ever dislike a book I have read!
Thats what I did with Gone with the Wind, I just couldn't bring myself to continue reading it after I found out it had a bad beginning AND a bad end.
I really enjoyed The Chronicles of Narnia too, also I like some of the books by Georgette Heyer (ie. the ones like The Devils Cub, thats my favourite)
HP was really good too, and I can't wait for the next one!
But my all-time favourite, hands-down is LotR, I love a whole heap of books, but nothing compares to them. And included with them is of course the back-gound books like The Hobbit, Silmarillian, Unfinished Tales etc. After all why else would I spend so much time on LotR related site and boards!

Yes TotBT is the 4th in the Vamp Chron., (and, needless to say, it's phenominal,) but I suggest you go back and read Interview and The Vamp Lestat. Those are the 1st and 2nd. You've read QotD, so you'd be all caught up. After TotBT comes Memnoch, then I think The Vamp Armand. After that I believe she started on the new tales of the vampires, like Pandora and Vittoro, which I actually have not read. I hope you enjoy
