I remember actually sitting in class, reading this, and crying. People kept stareing at me. It was a good book. I read the other two also. The lost boy was okay. I didn't quite care for the third one, and never finished it. But the first was AWESOME!! SO sad how it really did happen...

What were then names of thr second and third books?
I know I read at least the first two.
Cried a lot in those, it is just so heartbreaking that anyone could so that to a child. Like the part where he had to go in the bathroom with the bucket of amonia and bleech and i htink he passes out from the toxic fumes. everytime i deal with bleech or amonia I think of that.

This is a great book, but a warning, do not read if you have a weak constitution. It is about a severe abuse case, if anyone has read this, please answer me this . . . is it based on a true story? I think it is, but I am not sure. If this is merged then, I am glad to hear people have read it.

And if I close my eyes, maybe it will go away.

I've read it, and from what I understand it is based on a true story. My English teacher says it's exaggerated, and she doesn't really believe every detail, and I myself am not sure. The things that happen to that child in the book are absolutely horrific. I remember crying when I read it, even. Anyway, not the most enjoyable book to read, but it really made me thankful for the life I have.

I've read it. I remember tearing up when I read it. I believe its true, but my english teacher from last year told me it was exaggerated. I think this book has arose so much compassion from me that if the author ever came out and said they were exaggerated to a large degree or not even true at all I would be very upset.

Oh i know.. so sad. But for some reason i like reading about people suffering. Why though? Like.. I'm obsessed with the Holocaust. But yeah...i keep remembering how his mother (in A Child called it).. kept making him throw up at the end of the day to see if he had anything to eat.
Stupid fu..
whatever.
