i'm not sure if this is talked about much here, but what about poets? my favorite by far is Henry van Dyk.e(stupid censors!), his poetry is certainly worth checking out if you have the time. every individual line he writes is so incredibly perfect...

Definately Edgar Allen Poe. His work is AWESOME!!
We've done a lot of peotry reading and stuff like that. But I tend to forget the names of the poets. They were some really good poems too...
Shakespeare is great. I just have a tough time understanding what he's saying. We read a book that had the original version on one page, and the "english" as in "american" version on another page. Half the time I had to read the english side...

I like Shakespeare, although I've only read some sonets of him, because my English is not good enough to understand them (I'm not British or american, and I read the english "version"). I also like Miguel Torga (I don't think you know him) and Luis de Camões, it is a little bit hard to understand him, but as we were reading some of his sonets at school our teacher helped us to interpretate them.

I'm not really into poetry. I don't really understand it.
But, if I had to chose from my limited knowledge, I'd chose E.E.Cummings. Mainly because his poetry is well... hard to explain.

Im reading Yeats in English now. I like him, despite the fact he comes across like a pompous fool sometimes.

I don't have a favorite poets.. I like a lot, but I have no favorite. We've been doing a lot of poetry in school..
Whitman is good, and I love Frost. And Keats! Shakespeare is a given of course. And though he's not usually thought of as a poet, can't we add Tolkien in? Some of his poems are amazing!
