First of all: Don't slap me; I HATE rading ! But there are some books which I can't stop to read! The books by Anna Rice! Oh I love her books I'm just reading the vampire chronicles she wrote and I must say she is the best author I know (3re book allready !) ! Her books are amazing! You really should read "The vampire Lestat " I'm reading in every free minute and even try to read ahead when my eyes are shuting by their selfs . The way she writes about the feelings, the places, the thoughts, it's just amazing *sigh*
What do you think?

WHOOOO HOOOOO! I've been waiting for a place to talk about Anne Rice!
Malli, wait til you get to 'Tale of the Body Thief!' You will love it! My husband and I are in agreement the 'Queen of the Damned' and 'Tale...' are two of the best in the Vamp Chronicles, but I also love 'The Vampire Lestat.' 'Memnoch the Devil' got a bit strange, even for a hardcore Rice fan like myself, but I forgave her.
If you liked the Vampire Chronicles, you have to read 'The Witching Hour.' It's the first book in the Mayfair Witches series, followed by 'Lasher' and 'Taltos.' I have to say, though, that I enjoyed 'Hour' more than the other two.
As for her erotica, I havent read much of it, except for the Sleeping Beauty books. I think you REALLY need to be open minded about sex to enjoy these, and if you are underage, don't let your parents catch you with these...they are likely to send you to a therapist for being a sexual deviant. But hey, what fun would life be without people like us?

Hey guys! I'm usually too busy writing stories (okay, there's one so far) around here to get to any other topics but I saw Anne Rice's name mentioned and I had to check it out! You HAVE TO read the Witching Hour and her newest book is really good to, Blackwood Farm. It has witches and Vampires. Togehter. In one book! Me and a friend went New Orleans on vacation last year and stalked around her house. There was a limo outside and then she came out and got in it. She waved to us and I took pictures. Then we found out that pretty much everyone in New Orleans has been inside of her house. All we had to do was ring the bell.

OMG! that is so cool! I've never been to N.O., but I plan to go sometime soon (being somewhat of an atheist, I joke about it being my Jerusalem )
Matt (my husband, hehehe) actually got to go earlier this year on a buisness trip, and I was the one that got HIM into Anne Rice books! I was so P.O.'d!
Anyway, whoever reccomended 'The Witching Hour' is right, it's awesome! BTW, did you read the other two?

Yay, two married people! We are old!! Hey, we should start a 'Married People's' thread on the Misc. board! A place where we can come bitch about our husbands when they make us mad. Yeah, that would be handy! (j/k, I love my sweetie, but when I have PMS, he can get on my nerves a bit!)
Anyway, we are definitely in agreement about Lasher and Taltos. It seemed to me like The Witching Hour was sexy and mysterious, but the other two just got a little too weird. Especially Taltos. But you know that saying 'a bad day fishing is still pretty much better than a good day at the office?' I think you get my point

Yeah, I think'Memnoch' was a thinking book also. Like the entire few days it took to finish, you constantly thought about heaven and hell, god and the devil, etc. I just thought that the whole eye thing was strange.
As for the erotica, I have not had the pleasure of reading anything but the Sleeping Beauty stuff. It's been a while since I've really read a book, so I think I will start on 'Belinda' when I have a chance
