I voted for Harry Potter, out of that list.. My usual tastes run from books with no set plot really (like my all-time fav Catcher in the Rye) and science-related like the Hitchiker's Guide 'trilogy'..

I have several favourites, but since they're all in very different genres, I can't really compare. I choose the first option though, since I drag LotR around like other kiddies do with their blankie...

My FAV

The Stand by Stephen King.  I read it at least once a year, ususally when I hate the world and wish everyone would die.  Then by reading about it I get my wish, cause lots of people die in that book.

There is a alot of people on this board who have read that.  They have discussed it it the "other movies" thread.  I believe there was an "interview with the vampire" thread, and of course how can you talk about that movie without referencing the books by Anne Rice?
