i'm kinda obsessed by this book right now. it's almost perfectly written. i dug it up from my grandmother's collection, covered in dust, well used and on brownish paper....adds a bit of romanticism, doesn't it?
anyway, as i was planning to say before i started ranting: has anyone read or have an opinion?

I think I've heard of it. Last year a friend and I started watching the movies that are in our schools library that were made directly from it (I think they changed almost nothing) but only got through the second or third out of 6 or 7. At least I think it was the Thornbirds, it's been a year so it's hard to remember. I liked it though.

it was like a mini-series type thing I think, it's on like 6 videos in my universitys media library. I don't remember anything about who made it or when it was made though. But it is definately the same thing.

Justine is my favorite. And how evil is Luke? He reminds me of a guy I know of the same name....

luke is a very good type-cast figure...he's very real, in a way...I'm not sutre if you can call him evil, he probably didn't realize his mistakes

The Thornbirds.. ahhhh.. my favourite book! Colleen McCollough wrote it? Yes.. it is a movie.. a mini series. Rachel Ward plays Meggie and Richard Chamberlin plays the Priest, Ralph. Excellent! I bawl thinking about it!!
