Please Pray For Stewie

Please pray for one of my rabbits, Stewie. He's very ill and could possibly die and I'm really upset. My mom and I went to put the rabbits to bed last night and noticed that Stewie wasn't acting himself and so we brought him indoors. We covered him over so he could sleep and then ten minutes later we heard a thud come from his cage. I lifted up the blanket and saw him laying on his side, barely breathing. He then had a seizure and twisted himself into a really awkward position. His eyes were dull and expressionless. We rushed him to the vets and she told us he had bloat, which is a common reason for death in rabbits. During the car ride to the vets his body was limp and felt like a stuffed animal. He went in last night at 11:30 PM and he's still in there now, with no change in his condition.

I'm so sorry vicky  poor little thing..I do hope he feels better soon..loosing a pet is hard

This makes me want to cry, poor Stewie, I will pray for him right now. Hang in there Vicky. Let us know of any changes in his condition

I know how close you can become to a pet, and how sad it is to see one in pain. Hope he gets well soon, Victoria.

OK, the latest update from the vet (we call twice a day):
He is a little brighter and hopping around the cage but had not passed anything through his bowels yet and is not eating. He will not be home tonight but in away I am glad because we want him really well before he comes home no matter what the cost. Stewie will be having brown bread to day to tempt him.

Made an interesting read. Poor Stewie, well with love, care and attention from you I hope he is back to his usual self soon

OK I've just called the vet for an update and there has been a small improvement in his condition. He's passed a few currants (which is important) and he's eaten small amount of food.

A small improvement is better than no improvement. I hope he recovers - and by the way, Stewie is just about the cutest rabbit I've ever seen, he looks great in that Santa hat!

UPDATE!!
He's eating a little better and he's had a few bowel movements. He's not as well as they would like for him to come home just yet, it might take a few more days.
