Yeah, me too, Faith. I've never heard of that place.
Frankly, I travelled a lot in my 20s, too much I think, and am kinda burnt out on it. If I did travel again, it would have to be in conjunction with work or learning a craft, i.e. restoring frescoes in Florence, Italy or creating political murals in Mexico. I considered going into the Peace Corps as well. (My parents met in the Peace Corps in Nigeria in the 60s--guess travel is in my blood!) But in way it would be a step backwards--I need to stay in the States and resist my wanderlust. I've moved constantly and it's really gotten old. It's not progression--just senseless movement.
But for pure travel, I'd like to go to Alaska. I shoulda done that when I was in Oregon anyway. Maybe lead a team of dogs in Alaska--yeah that would be cool! Yay Samoyeds--they are my favorite doggies! (I also recommend the Canadian Rockies and Vancouver Island in B.C. for a trip closer to home. Beautiful up there and some good, um, herbage.)
But mostly I would like to just take some art, music, or cooking lessons here in Brooklyn. I'm at a stage in my life where I want to make things--music, art, screenplays, rump roasts, whatever. I can do that here.
Please excuse my musings. I am in an introspective mood today.

Too much B.C. herbage does tend to make one introspective.

I get it.. seychelles.. seashells.. I'm a quick one today.
It looks beautiful!
Street I wish I could say the same about traveling too much. I haven't really traveled at all, maybe once or twice out of state. I guess I'm on a kick right now where I want to escape life for a little while.

Quote from: Daisy Duke on May 19, 2004, 09:44:30 pm Well, New Zealand is at the tippy top of my list. It's such an intruguing country.. The people seem genuinely sweet (and, according to my Uncle, they are), and the land is beautiful. Luckily, though, after next summer, I'll get to tick NZ off my list of places to go! *Bounce* |
Good thing you haven't talked to me then

I want to go to Europe, just to explore. I'd also like to go to Antarctica and a planet far, far away from here.

Me too! I said earlier on that I wanted to go to the moon, but a planet even further away would be even better!

Seychelles, Goiter? Ahahahaa.
Actually, I have heard of that place before, by coincidence. My ex was a computer dude and he was able to see the different countries that were viewing his web page. And he got something like 2 or 5 hits from Seychelles. So he had to look it up. And then he told me. So I know where it is. Good stuff.
Anyway, that was my story for today. I'm sure you all loved it.
