Do you care what people on message boards think of you?

When someone gets pissed off with something you said, do you think, "Oh no! This person must think I'm a jerkass in real life!"
Or do you just not care?
As for me, there are quite a few people on the board whom I consider friends, and I do care what they they think about me...
But @#$% everyone else.

I think I care a lot less than in real life, but the principle is the same. People like to be liked, but friends count heavier than strangers. There are indeed some people I like and I do care what they have to say about me, while I completely ignore other negative sentiments.

I do care. I mean, how could you not?
But at the same time, I'm not going to change what I wanted to say because it could offend someone.
The worst thing, for me personally, is making spelling errors, and not realizing until it's too late (ie if the thread is closed and it's stuck there, or if you went away for the weekend and only realized the next time you viewed it (-_-) ) or completely getting the wrong end of the stick.
I can handle people being upset with me, but I can't handle being illiterate.

Most of my censoring comes into play by reading and re-reading my posts looking for spelling and grammer errors.
I don't really care what other people think of my opinions, but I don't want to sound uneducated either.

I used to do that, crazy, but now I just don't give a crap when I'm writing. Hence the fact that half my posts are modified when I read through them later.

I don't think anyone's really been pissed off at me here, and if they were, it was just a misunderstanding, and we sorted it out.
I don't know... I guess I don't really care. If they don't like me for whatever reason, there's not much I can do about that. If they like me, that's cool.
I'm not going to go around faking to be something or like certain things hoping that people will like me more, or whatever.

Well, only to some friends on the board, who are closer to me.
I suppose I've known them for awhile so, yes, it does matter to me, what they would think. As for the rest of the board, I've always tried to maintain a similiar attitude towards everyone, I don't know if anyone dislikes me, but as far as I've known, I don't think I've pissed anyone off, for them to have that feeling about me... have I? hmmmm...
LOL, oh, and I really know about those spelling errors. Especially, if I'm posting a part of fiction..always edit, edit....

Arguments don't upset me (in fact, a good fight cheers me up). But I do feel a little unwanted if everyone disapproves of me. Note that I said disapproves of me and not disagrees with me, which is different. That happens both online and in real life. But I don't dwell on it for very long. I just go and find a place where I can meet people whom I have something in common with. And whenever someone backs me up, I'm happy happy 
I'm paranoid about typos too. Even if I know I've got everything right, I still have to double check.

I do care, because i do thik most of you are my friends, even tho we've never seen eachother, how could u don't care what your friends think about u?! but i would try to be honest by not offened other people

About the spelling: Sometimes I just keep editing, but when I'm lazy I just think: Well, I'm not a native speaker, let's blame it on that. Maybe now you will all think that mistakes I don't notice making are just laziness as well

I wouldn't say I care a whole lot, but I don't want to be disliked. I think it bothers me more if I feel like I've made someone mad at me by hurting their feelings or something. And I get upset when people argue too much, like start yelling at each other and whatnot. (Which doesn't happen that often, thank God, but it irks me when it does. I just like everyone to be happy! )
As for the spelling thing, I get mortified beyond belief if I screw up something grammar-wise. But hey, that's just the English major in me. I'm not that vehement about checking it unless it's in one of my stories though -- if I'm just replying I just try to say stuff the way I would if I was talking.
Miriel: You're not a native speaker?  Jeepers, I never would have known! I wish I was that fluent in another language...
