Ah, the Pistols! (Yes, I did indeed notice that this thread has been dead for almost a year, but I got too exited about the mentioning of the Pistols to ignore it  )
It's no big secret that the musical quality of the Sex Pistols doesn't belong in the elite, but Johnny Rotten definitely did write some of the best lyrics of the 70's (quite possibly the century too, but everyone has different opinions, of course). And I reckon Steve Jones is a really, really underrated guitar player, unfortunately he just didn't really get the opprtunity to prove his abilities in the Pistols days.
All in all - musical history, well worthy
