But there's also some really old bluesy stuff like Leadbelly (original Black Betty, Where Did You Sleep Last Night) - not sure what era exactly, 30s/40s maybe... I'm just relieved I didn't click on this thread and find a lot of posts mentioning Duran Duran.  I don't consider any music made after 1980 "old." As for myself, I love Styx, Journey, Queen, Boston... artists that did carry over into the 80s and beyond, but started in the 1960s and 70s.  Also, the Association, Moody Blues, Jay and the Americans, Gerry and the Pacemakers, stuff like that.
