what is the oldest "lyrical" song in your index at the moment??? Classical and such not included i guess it would be more appropriate to word it the Oldest Song of the last century?

I have lots of sixties stuff on my media player, such as Simon and Garfunkel, The Beatles, The Doors, The Kinks, The Easybeats, which I love and listen to heaps.
But there's also some really old bluesy stuff like Leadbelly (original Black Betty, Where Did You Sleep Last Night) - not sure what era exactly, 30s/40s maybe...

Lonnie Donegan is pretty old, isn't he? I have that because it reminds me of my grandad.

just listening to some old stuff now, but its not lyrical... its mainly medieval songs and rhythms, then some 'normal' classical.

Boney M and the Beatles maybe, but not Smashing Pumpkins. Too new.
I'm just relieved I didn't click on this thread and find a lot of posts mentioning Duran Duran. I don't consider any music made after 1980 "old."
As for myself, I love Styx, Journey, Queen, Boston... artists that did carry over into the 80s and beyond, but started in the 1960s and 70s. Also, the Association, Moody Blues, Jay and the Americans, Gerry and the Pacemakers, stuff like that.
