Vanishing pictures

Have you noticed the same as I have? Some pictures have disappeared from this thread:

Also in this thread the actual picture fans are talking about seems to have vanished:

Those are from the older ones, from last November and May.
When opening the thread there is a rapid blink of boxes with red X in those places where the pictures should be but in a split second even they disappear. It’s the same whether I’m logged in or not. Maybe the pics are there somewhere but the links are gone or something.
If everybody else can see everything normally it must have something to do with my computer or internet. 
Not a big deal, though. If it doesn’t bother anyone it doesn’t bother me, either, I just thought I’ll let you know.

That only has to do with links that were taken down. When you post a picture, you have to upload it to a site like Photobucket first. After some time, a lot of people remove the pictures from their Photobucket to make space for new ones. So that's why you get the red crosses.

Oops, I must have got used to more old fashioned boards than this one...I thought there always stays the X box permanently no matter what - not that I'd especially enjoy looking at them..

I've actually been having a problem with disappearing pictures, too.
There have been occasions when I put in the link to a picture, and after surround it by the appropriate image tags, and then posting, it just doesn't show up. The picture just isn't in my post. So I go back and modify it, and I can see the code still there and everything.
Even when I highlight my whole post (because sometimes you can see a little box where the picture would be) it isn't there. It's really queer.

Yeah, I either host it myself on freewebs, or I do the properties thing. The pictures work on other sites. It's queer.
