Dear Mods.
I have been trying for the past half an hour to change the photo on the left side of my posting... not the signature but the little photo that one can post.
I went to photobucket and put my image in and everything. Then I went to modify and put in my password then pasted the [img]... everything one is suppose to put into the space... however I'm not getting any image to come up.. even the image that I originally had!!!!
what gives..?? I'm so frustrated!!!

i know i'm not a mod, but i know whats wrong cause i was really frustrated with it too....anyways, when your doing an avatar, you dont use the [img] thing you just use the URL. and make sure the little box next to where you type the URL in is checked.

Oh Thank you Colleen!! but now it's telling me my image is too big and I have to go to 100x100 what is the measurement they are talking about?
Do you know... you're such a genius already...

haha no problem
yeah, the maximum size (on here anyway) for avatars is 100X100 pixels...anything over that isnt going to fit, you might need to find a new picture or get someone to resize it for you (sorry, cant help you there  i'm actually horrible when it comes to using the computer to create things, but great with terminology)

thanks for your help anyway..
What's happening now is Photobucket won't recognize my jpegs.. and I'm so frustrated I don't know why.
Anyone?????

To resize to 100X100:
1. First open your photo (of whatever size) in some form of photo editing program. (It doesn't have to be anything fancy like Photoshop. If you have a digital camera, chances are you got a program with that.)
2. In the program, you have two options. If your photo is a perfect square, find a resize photo tool and put in the dimensions of 100X100pixels. (Note: 100X100 is not the max dimensions, it is the only dimension, anything smaller will be resized to 100x100 once on A&F.) If you photo is not a square, use the cropping tool to select the square portion of the photo you want, and resize to 100x100 using the above instructions.
3. Save the photo. If photobucket isn't uploading your jpegs, try saving the file as a png or gif. Both are recognized in photobucket and will work on A&F.
To use on A&F
1. In photobucket, copy the "URL" link.
2. Under modify profile, select "no pic" where there is the scrolling list of pictures.
3. Check the "I have my own pic" box and copy your url.
Voila!
And, hey, if it still doesn't work, PM me the url and I'll see what I can do for you.

Thanks so much 4x4....I just shut down last night because i was getting ready to throw my machine out the window.. I woke up this morning tried it again a vious la it works!!!
