Avatars expanding

I have a few avatars I want to use, but whenever i put them on this site they are automatically expanded. What's wrong? It doesn't change for other sites.

I could be wrong, but I think the default size is set to 100x100 pixels, so everything that appears as an avatar automatically shrinks or expands to that size.
I'm not sure how to change this, or if it can actually BE changed.

Yeah, the size is 100x100. I think the only way of fixing it expanding or shrinking is to fix it in Photoshop (or another image-based program) to be 100x100, or I could be wrong? I'm not sure.

But when you look throught the avatars archived on A&F, there are some that are smaller than 100 by100, and you can use those without them expanding.

Most likely those gallery avatars are formatted for the site. All avatars we upload ourselves are stretched automatically. The only person who could answer whether the default can be changed, indeed if we want it to be changed is Jochen. I think the reason we have a default of 100x100 is so that members don't feel tempted to have signarure size avatars.

Oh wait, I got an idea... I'll put the avatar with the blue color of the background of the site so it'll look smaller, but it's really 100 by 100. Okay, thanks for you help, I'll lock the thread now.
