after this morning, i'm not sure who's going to be the girlfriend.
now it's said andrea savage will play the part. it's been reported by variety magazine so i would tend to trust them rather than the other report saying fiona gubelmann had the role, though that seemed pretty legit even with her facebook page. i suppose executives and casting directors can change their minds.
andrea has an even more impressive list of accomplishments. check out her imbd page.

Really?
If they can't decide who to cast as the girl next door, why not play musical chairs instead? That would settle things.
EDIT:
I recently found this article that was in German, then translated it on Google... It's from yesterday:
Quote:The cast of the comedy pilot Wilfred completed are: Andrea Savage from Dinner with jewelry is one of the leading roles in addition to Elijah Wood play. What part they play is not so far known.
Andrea Savage is one of the leading roles in the comedy series "Wilfred" That play has piloted the U.S. cable channel FX. The reported the U.S. trade paper Variety. "Wilfred" is the adaptation of a Australian format.
The series is about an average guy named Ryan (Elijah Wood, "The Lord of the Rings"), who in his neighbor Sarah (Fiona Gubelmann in love). Best of all, you return his feelings - and actually a whirlwind romance that nothing will stand in the way.
If it was not their dog would be. Or what all but one for Ryan Keep your dog. For Wilfred, the name of the pet, Wilfred appears in Form of a grown man (Jason Gann) in a dog costume, the makes no bones about the fact that he and Ryan as a friend of his mistress does not agree.
Savage will play what role in the pilot is still unknown. In U.S. cinema is up to date with Steve Carell in "Dinner with Jewelry" to see. She has previously also guest-starred on "The West Wing", "Cold Case", "King Of Queens", Two And A Half Men " and "Party Down" played. In the short-lived Bravo series "Significant Others", it has a Role played. Also in the self-written by her and produced series "Dog Bites Man" on Comedy Central. |
Also looked up Ms. Gubbelmann's Facebook and saw her profile picture of a 'WILFRED' arrow(s) sign on it.
Pretty confused right now.....
Question-
If everyone was working on the pilot, why would they switch casting already? None of this makes any sense to me. >< I thought that they'd finish up by now. Guess not...

it's not unusual to recast someone during production of a project. maybe both actresses were cast and one turned out better for the lead or something contractual wasn't working or it was a conflict in scheduling. if the show gets picked up, there would be some long time commitments attached. for all we know elijah could be recast. *parish the thought*
remember LOTR had shot a few days with one aragorn then dropped him and brought in viggo. it happens all the time, probably more so in television. i was doing a project on tv shows and some of my favorite ones had pilots with different people.
the google translation is funny! "dinner with jewelry" should be dinner for schmucks. still, it's good most reports are on the same page.

I see!! Thank you very much for clearing it up for me, Deenan. You're so smart about these things. XD
Well, whatever happens, let's hope for the best. ^^ Whatever results come in, let's hope they're positive and goes our way.

there hasn't been any word on the status of wilfred until now. the pilot impressed the powers that be and they picked up the show for a full season!
read all about it.
we'll be seeing elijah on tv for 13 weeks. he's going to be a little busy, methinks.

I wonder if it will start airing in January, or next fall! I hope it's January, and that we get to see him in a sitcom soon! I'm so excited, and thank you for posting that information!

not long ago, elijah and the crew were out filming a scene in venice beach. you can see those pics here.
and if you didn't catch the preview for the show that was on line and can be seen on tv, there is a download thanks to karin.
i think this will be just quirky enough to get in an audience. it's certainly funny IMO.

Quote from: Alliecat on March 09, 2011, 08:06:24 pm Chris Klein joins the cast |
did you hear how chris got the part? apparently chris is working on getting himself cleaned up and was looking to get his career going again. elijah played a big part in chris getting a role on the show and chris is grateful for elijah's help.
a group of short promos were released yesterday and every one of them had me laughing hysterically!
http://www.tv.com/wilfred/show/79490/videos.html
i would watch this even if elijah wasn't on the show.

Well, I don't exactly know of Chris Klein. But what I think that Elijah did for him is an amazing deed! I'm sure that Klein thanks him for it a lot.
@Promos The lick was awkward... But it had me hooked! I loved "Tug of War", that was priceless. Ryan's "WTH" face had me grinning. "Bed Hog" is my favorite.
I've got to write a fanfic.
