did the times see a different version of the movie? aaron is trying to complete his second novel, not first, and as far as i know, he's the only one to shave his head and get a tattoo. 
i really wish i could be in the theater in NYC, but i can't. i have a lot of family there, so i'm going to email them to say go see this movie.
if you have family there too, why not do the same? heck, i may even buy a ticket just to get more butts in the seats, even if it's a imaginary one.

Believe me, Deenan. If NY wasn't this far away, I'd be there too. But I like your suggestion to buy tickets just to support them. I might do that.

I'm waiting very impatiently to get my tickets for Friday. Definitely planning on seeing it twice that day, and probably once on Saturday. Overlithe will be with me as well. We're doing all we can to see that Day Zero's NYC run is successful.

well lith, as soon as you see it... twice, please come back and give us some news. i've seen a lot of mixed reviews of the movie. but that won't stop me from seeing it. i never take "critics" opinions. i'm the only judge of what i like and don't like.
for example, i saw lots of glowing reviews for a movie that has two of my favorite actors in it, so i bought it before i even saw it. boy! was i disappointed! that's the first movie i exchanged because i didn't like it, and i wanted so much to like it.
i've told my family in NYC about it and come tomorrow, i'll be buying some tickets.

the estimate figures are in from this weekend and they're better than i expected. it made about $13,000. not too shabby for only 2 theaters and minimal promotions. let's hope it continues to do well.

Nope, not shabby at all; it's unfortunate they wasn't a wider release for it. I discussed it with my children and this is something they would have gone to the theater to see. We'll all watch it when my DVD arrives.

if those numbers hold up, it would place DZ at number 4 as far as money to theater ratio. for only two screens it made over $6,300 per screen, and if it would have been on twice as many, (4) it could have topped out as number one!
i sure hope this means more theaters will show it now.

Some news that just came in: Day Zero is screening in Hanover,
NH tomorrow (Feb 1) at 7:30 at the Hopkins Center. Writer/EP Rob
Malkani and Producer Tony Moody will be there for Q&A afterwards.

I watched this movie with my hubby this weekend and he enjoyed it and said it was a really important movie, that it was too bad more people hadn't heard of it. Said that oldsters that could remember the Vietnam days and young adults who think the draft might be re-instated should see it.
He enjoyed Elijah's role as well and chuckled in the right places.

Thats good to know as I have just bought it it will arrive for next weekend so will watch it with mark and tell you what he thinks of it

I've just seen Day Zero - literally, about 5 minutes ago - and it was one of the best films I think I've ever seen. The acting was all amazing - Elijah really stood out, I honestly think this is one of his best moments, and that's saying something. The ending was heartbreaking.
