I don't usually talk about Elijah to my friends or family. I'll mention him every now and then, or watch his movies sometimes, but that's about it. My friend said I was obsessed just because I've watched his movies since I was little. I didn't think that was "obsession." Cause I'm pretty quiet about him and I was never heavily involved in the fandom.

Quote from: maryd on May 30, 2009, 12:25:04 pm Yes, mine is. I'm pretty quiet about my fandom - not many people know that I'm an Elijah fan - but my sister takes every opportunity to annoy me about it. She regularly says that he's a rubbish actor - and she always gets his name wrong (Elijah WoodS).

My sister's the same exact way. All she ever brings up the fact that he's in "all low-budget films, and they're all direct-to-DVD." She makes me so mad.

^ He enjoys the laid-back roles, JMO. He doesn't do it for the money, which is a good thing. ^^ I suppose 'Lij likes to express himself throughout these characters that he is playing.
Elijah Wood = Great role model. (Rosa Parks is first on my list, though. I hope he doesn't mind that...)
And yes... Elijah has plagued me ever since 2006. And at once when I heard that he enjoys voice-acting on Conan O'Brien last night I went wild. (in a fangirl-good way...)
Though my uncle sometimes makes jokes about him... But I've learned to live with. And it's pretty cool because I can always talk with my aunt up in Michigan about Elijah. (Thank you, Tim Wood. )

yeah. as soon as i started mentioning Elijah with my family and friends. they don't think hes very cute or whatever. my older brother makes fun of his eyes constantly. so, i just told them that i liked him and they didn't have to make a fuss over that. and they respect that. i don't talk about him much now because my family and i don't talk much. but here and there, my siblings still make fun.

Well, my parents and my brother think I am way too obsessed with him. My brother will sometimes tease me about carrying pics of him in my wallet all the time like he was family or something, lol.
And I have a friend who does not like him at all, infact she said when she first watched LOTR, he totally creeped her out. And so whenever I talk to her about how kind and sweet he is, she's just like "You can't know that for sure. Most celebrities just act like that in front of the camera, and you can never know what he's really like!" and she just goes on and on about it. And I know she's right about alot of celebs, but not Elijah. We know he really does have a good heart, and it's not just for show. But I just can't make her understand that... And then she also sometimes is like "His eyes aren't even that blue, or that big!" and talks about how she has friends with bluer eyes than him, and there's nothing so special about his eyes.
It kinda bothers me, but I just deal with it. I don't see how anyone could not like him, but I guess not everyone is the same. Oh well.

I try to keep my obsessions private, since I don't want to annoy my friends by constantly talking about whatever I'm obsessed with. However, somehow my friends eventually find out anyway. Luckily my friends aren't teasing me about it.
I haven't been plagued or teased by anyone about my obsessions, but my mom, who is the most frequent person to hear me going on about whatever I'm passionate about, gets tired of the subject constantly being brought up in conversation.
