I would like to see him in a movie where can show case his beautiful acting talent. Not just good looks type role. Charcter Role. Deep and complicated. Something like Kevin Klein's role in Sophie's Choice. Or Johnny Depps role in The Libertine (which by the way is one of my favorite movies, well done Mr. Depp).
From his (Mr. Wood) former roles. I liked his chilly performance in Sin City. Also his small but interesting role in Spotless Mind. I wished i saw the movie Oxford Murder. His performance looks interesting from some clips i have seen on youtube. I saw some clips from the romantics. He plays a bit of a alcoholic type? Hopefully i will at least get a dvd in my hands, probably it will never make it to big screen in my town, darn it.

Hi, I'm new to these forums--really glad I found you guys. After seeing him play a teenaged hitman in Chain of Fools, I'd love to see Elijah in more action films. Something like a Bourne Identity of Die Hard. I also agree with another poster it'd be great to see him in a gay role with some love scenes. The idea of a young father sounds good. A single guy, blue-collar, trying to do right by his child. It seems like he gets cast as an upper-class preppie a lot so this would a nice change.

I can see him playing the role of a single dad quite easily...I can imagine him being really sweet and adorable (well, more so than he already is!)

A single dad played by him would rock my world.
I'm sure his character will spoil the child. 
I'd actually like for him to play a romantic... and I don't mean his past movies that did have some romance in them (All I Want/Try 17, Oxford Murders, The Romantics -- No offense, Mr. Wood!) But I'd like for him to be a man with emotions brought out, he has sensitivity and wants his true love to be safe.
Sadly I think that will only be in the short story that I'm writing now days. '^^

I saw a made-for-TV movie on Hallmark or Lifetime that was about a young single father going through college. If someone could write something for the big screen, it'd be perfect for Elijah.
As for him playing a gay role, I think Edward Norton could play his boyfriend. Or an Asian or African-American actor, just to add another layer, make it more complex.

My African-American choice would be Cornelius Smith Jr. (even though he's an actor in soap operas) They'd be awesome together.

You should write a screenplay for it too! I've been fiddling with writing screenplays and stuff, and it's good fun!

That would be cute, actually... I'm one of those people who like extra cheese with my movies.
I could! I've never done it before, though. It looks tough, but maybe I can do it. Whenever I finish writing it, I'll try to put it into a script. Who knows, maybe Elijah will like it. ^//^

I'm not a fan of rom-coms but if Elijah starred in one I'd certainly go see it. If he did do one, I'd like Anne Hathaway to play his love interest. I think she'd be up to matching his talent.

There's loads of stuff on the internet to help, and you can also download templates for MS Word, so you don't have to spend a fortune on a special screenwriting program! XD

He made an excellent Frodo!
Call me girly, but I like the idea of him in a few chick flicks. Not really his type of role, I'm sure. I just like those kind.
Comedies sound good too.

Of course The Lord Of The Rings, but also:
Green street hooligans, Oxford murders
and I also really love when he was younger, like in The Faculty or Deep Impact or when he was very little that was so cute, in The good son

I think romantic comedies are ridiculously good.  So yeah, I see Elijah playing a character in them because I guess Elijah is a romantic, sensitive guy that can fit with comedy. Action with a bit of romance is also good. Like many of you said, he can fit in any role. He's just good. I recently saw a rom-com movie called "Just Go with It" with Jennifer Aniston and Adams Sandler, and they are both great actors. I like the idea of a young dad. A gay character? Agh...NO! I also like him to play a romantic drama, but some humor is always better.
