I've only read it once, last September since there was a TV adpatation on at the time which I really enjoyed.  The Brontes lived fascinating lives, I loved Jane Eyre. It's one of my mums favourites as well.

I absolutely love Jane Eyre, it is on my list of all time favourite books. It wasn't an immediate hit with me though, it took time. The first time i read it I thought it was okay, then I read it a few years later and it was like wow this is fantastic. I studied it for A level English and looking in depth at it was what made me fall in love with the book.

I read Jane Eyre long long time ago. It's ofcourse a great book. It's really hard to find good romantic novels these days.

I prefer classic romances like Pride and Prejudice and stuff to modern romances....thats just my opinion! I'm planning to get Jane Eyre out of the library again to take on my holiday, its a real page-turner for me.

Absolutely. There's a reason they're called classic after all

Stop reading my signature. Don't deny it. You're reading it. I can see you. You're giving it the casual little once-over. How rude. Didn't your mother teach you better?

Jane Eyre is a great novel, well-written and symbolic, with many gothic elements, with amazing heroine and mysterious Mr Rochester;] I love first chapters where the world is shown from the prespective of a little girl, and the scene whenre mr Roxhester is dressed as a Gypsy - hilarious;]
It's one of my favourite novels, just next to Pride and Prejudice.

Ha Ha Ha! I agree totally Jess - no offense to all the others here that love it, but I just can't get into this whole Bronte/Austen type of thing.  :-

Even worse is Thomas Hardy.

Give me Shakespeare or Dickens though...
