Quote from: Precious Lillywhite {DA} on June 29, 2007, 03:51:06 pm I try to avoid spoilers as much as possible. When the book comes out I am going to avoid the internet as much as possible in case someone who reads quicker than me puts up the ending. I am getting it the day it comes out so I hopefully won't be too far behind but there will always be someone who finishes it quicker.
| oh me too. when it comes to the Harry Potter books, i've been totally spoiler-free (it also helps that i've only been a fan since book 5. ) the minute i heard grumblings from last book of people making t-shirts and whatnot saying "_________ DIES!" i left the internet for about a week before the release and until i was done reading it. one of the hardest things i've ever done, but completely worth it.

This isn't a spoiler as I certainly have no inside information and wouldn't post it even if I did. But I was wondering who you think will be killed off in Deathly Hallows?
Personally I think Harry will die, obviously I don't want him to but I think Rowling will do it.
In part it may depend on how serious Rowling is in book 7 definitely being the absolute end of the series, after all if Harry does survive the end of book 7 it leaves a window of opportunity open for more books later down the line. She says book 7 is 100% the last but for me unless Harry is killed she could be convinced to write more.
I think there will be other deaths of central characters....possibly either Hermione or Ron, so that 2 of the golden trio end up dead....i don't think she will kill off all three of them.
Usually my predictions are wrong so I can't wait to find out how wrong I am.

The day the book comes out is an official holiday over here so all the shops will be closed So I haven't pre-ordered it yet. I keep hoping that one of the big shops in the city will be open so I can go and get it there. If not, I'll have to wait until Monday
The good thing however is that I have the week off.

Hope you get your copy, Cristiel! I read an interview with the boy that plays Neville Longbottom in the films - his name has completely slipped my mind, sorry! - and he said he had strangers coming up to him in the street and telling him Neville was going to die - of course JKR hasn't said anything to confirm this!!
She'll actually be on Jonathan Ross this Friday night, I'll post date and time soon, and I'll be tuned in to see what she says about the book!

That must have been creepy for the actor who plays Neville. Thanks for letting us know about Jonathan Ross.

I am nervous too. I really want to read it but I am nervous that it is going to be really sad.
I am getting myself in the mood by reading some Harry Potter fan fiction.

I've predicted Harry would die since book two, and that Ron and Hermione would be left to carry on. I'm growing more sure of the first part of that every minute. As to the second, we'll wait and see.

I'm so sorry it made you sad. I just think that Ms. Rowling has set it up that it HAS to happen.
Hopefully she has lead us down a primrose path and it won't happen.
Hugs, Rach

I agree with you Rach. Also I think Rowling wants the last book to be sad, she is not concerned about being cheerful or happy endings.

She has said that she has had th last chapter written for years and safely tucked away. As a writer myself, I can understand how much that must have helped her write the rest of the books. She knew where she was headed. All that was left was to get her characters there.
I think anything she does will be amazing!
