If this thread has already been done I apologise but I couldn't find one. I only found 'What was your favourite childhood author/book' so I guessed that this one hadn't been done before. So... what is your favourite book(s)?

Hello!what an interesting discussion!Reading is my favourite hobby! I spend hours reading books when I haven't a lot of homework!!!!! one of my favourite books is The Lord of The rings by Tolkien of course!! I love Harry Potter (especially the fourth book!) ..I know it is a little childish but I think it's simply one of the best book ever written!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The idea of a school of wizards is fantastic!!!!!I'd like to attend a school like Hogwarts, wouldn't you? My favourite characters are Ron and Fred & George Weasley (maybe because I have a twin too!)...I like also Eragon!!!I'm waiting for the second book,Eldest, because here in Italy it isn't in the book shops yet It will be on 26 october, in two days ! And then I like also The Hobbit by Tolkien: it's too funny ,I love it!!!!!!!........I like especially fantastic books!!!!!!

I just finished the 6th Harry Potter book. I had to wait longer for the release of the German version, but it was absolutely worth to read it. I had tears in my eyes because of the sad end. How will this go on

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho - its short and sweet - (like Elijah). I love it - it encourages you to follow your dream.

What do you mean? Harry Potter?
I grew up reading it. Started when I was about 10, so I got hooked. Honestly, if you don't read them, you're really missing out. They're a fun, light, enjoyable read. Yes, they're aimed mainly at children. But that's the fun in it. To be honest, childrens books are better than adults books in my opinion. I don't like books that 'challenge' you, I like books that I can curl up with, have a giggle and not try and translate any 'hidden messages' that pop up in a lot of adult books.
If you see what I mean...
Harry Potter is fantastic!
Oh, and I also love the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. I forgot to mention that in my original post.

| Yes, I think you are lol Just for the record, do you hate Harry Potter or Dan Radcliffe? Or both?
The Harry Potter books are my favorite books And of course the LotR books too. I also like the chronicles of narnia, the hobbit, and lots of the classics like a little princess and the secret garden

Hands down, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. She has such a brilliant style. Everything about her writing is beautiful from the language to the settings.
Also: Interview with the Vampire, Rebecca, Angela's Ashes, Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera, Great Gatsby, Mists of Avalon... LOTR and HP, obviously, but the better question would be who doesn't love those books? LOTR was bedtime stories since before I could talk. I'm named partially after Rosie Cotton, as well... My father is a bit of an... enthusiast...
A toast to fantastic literature.
