Sophie's World - Jostein Gaarder

Did you read it? It's a REAL mindopener! It's about philosophy but it's a novel, so the writer teaches you about famous philosoper's but he tells you a weird story as well. the plot is really odd and unexpected. There's a movie about it as well! But I haven't seen much of that...

I tried to read this when I was about 11. I struggled through, got bored, picked it up again, struggled some more and eventually forgot about it.
But it is a very interesting book, and now that I'm actually studying philosophy I'm going to have to pick it up again and give it a read
There was a sequel too, and some more philosophically minded books by Jostein Gaarder. If you enjoyed 'Sophie's World' you should have a look for them - good reads

I loved it, but I read it for the last time when I was 9, so I don't remember too much. I recommend it to every kid who wants to know more about philosophy. It's great!

I read it and I liked it a lot though there were parts where I really had to force myself to keep reading. But I'm happy that I finished it, it's absolutely worthwhile.

I've read it a few years ago, liked it a lot.
I just don't understand what philosophy has to do with religion I would recommend it to everyone, religious or not.
