So here it is again - Eurovision!  Does anyone else on here watch this as an annual tradition, or is it just me? Who's entering for your country? Is it just a joke or do you get serious?

Ireland this year entered Dustin the Turkey, a sock puppet, with the song 'Irelande Douze Pointe'.  Personally, I thought it was a load better than some stuff....

But apparently our joke act didn't even make it through to the finals!

Oh well.  Post your eurovison news and views here!

I usually watch the Eurovision Song Contest religiously every year but, unfortunately, we have been invited to a a 50th birthday party this Saturday so I will miss it this time round. Sorry your song didn't get through to the finals maryd - I thought it was highly entertaining myself but looks like our fellow europeans didn't get the joke.

Looks that way, doesn't it? Hope you get to see some highlights or something Annie - I love Terry Wogan so I always watch the one on BBC rather than the one broadcast on the Irish channels.  And good luck to Andy for England of course!

Yes maryd, it's definitely Terry Wogan's banter that makes the contest entertaining. Thanks for the good luck wishes with our entry but I don't hold out much hope.

I just learned that Holland is out... Haha I don't mind, because our singer sucks. She's stupid and her song was annoying anyways... I don't like Eurovision anyways... They say it's not fair played

I definitely believe the organisers need to rethink the voting system. Especially in recent years it seems that politics has decided the winner rather than the quality of the song.

But this year was definately a fix, and did you hear Wogan is thinking of resigning in protest?

Well, retiring from Eurovision commentating - which would kind of ruin the whole thing, I only really watch for his commentary.

That's all I need, I can't stand listening to him when I see clips from Eurovision.

Why not? He's so funny! He makes the show worthwhile! OPlus he can always guess where the 12 points are going!

He's arrogant, I can't stand him or the snide comments/jokes he makes about certain performers/countries

With Eurovision, most people can do that

Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one!
