After Party for Oxford Murders Report - Carol

As soon as we arrived to the after party at the Slug & Lettuce Pub, I spotted Elijah chatting to a guy. He was wearing a light jacket over a striped shirt and a waistcoat and he looked real nice!!! My husband Brain and I went up to Elijah and Brian noticed that his glass was almost empty and asked him if he would like a drink. He said "Yes, please," and asked for a Haegaarden beer and followed us to the bar area. I stood looking at him for a time as he talked to others, until Brian came back with the drinks, and started talking to him. For the life of me I can't remember what they talked about. I must have been in a daze when Brian said can I have a picture!! Looking at me as well, I said and can I have a cuddle? Elijah threw his arm around me and pulled me to him real close. It was fantastic and I have the picture to prove it !!!

Elijah asked me what I thought about The Oxford Murders and I told him that I needed to see it again as it had a lot of information to absorb, and he agreed. He said it was very wordy and learning all the dialog was hard. Brian asked him about the Friday Night Project TV program and did he know what he was letting himself in for. He laughed that great laugh of his and said he knew what it would be like.

Brian spent most of the evening chatting with Elijah, Alex and a guy that said he was an assistant director. Brian won't tell me what they talked about, but I did hear some things like the he's looking for another band to add to his label, and they had all done press that morning.

I asked Elijah if it were true that he liked to stay out late, and he said it has been known, but not so much now. Other people were in the pub and no one bothered Elijah or Alex. He was able to hang around talking and having a quiet drink until after 11.30 when everyone started to drift away. He was open to us all for photo opportunities and was so generous with his time. When we left, he gave us all a big hug.

I will never forget that night. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
